Phil Ochs, I think he's amazing. 1,5 min talking in the last one but when he starts singing it really shows off his amazing voice. His music was just beautiful in general too.

I slapped myself for not mentioning JAMES BROWN. :slick:
Also Ian Gillan's pitch rises in Child in Time are legendary
Brian Johnson form AC/DC. Maxim Reality from Prodigy.

Mikael Åkerfeldt is definitely my favorite. Fucking amazing! [editline]30th October 2010[/editline] Oh and Ozzy back in the days.
Not one voice compares to Mr Brown's :smug:
Too bad what happened to him later on :v:
Too bad what happened to him later on :v:
What are you on? His later music was awesome too!
What are you on? His later music was awesome too!
I didn't really like his music later on, but I haven't heard THAT much so my opinion isn't really valid.
I didn't really like his music later on, but I haven't heard THAT much so my opinion isn't really valid.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Time This album... will change your mind about James Brown. He is a genius, legend, master of what he has always been good at doing. Ever since the 50s.
Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic, mainly because I'm fucking jealous of his falsetto voice. Also, despite how weird he is, Mika has a fucking incredible voice.
Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave) Hes in my avatar.
win butler his voice isnt really particularly great, but its powerful and effective.
This thread's lack of Devin Townsend is disappointing. Thank me when you are done watching.
Eric Adams, you can really tell in the 'lighter' works of manowar. As well as their 'heavier' stuff:
My favourite vocalists are Mike Patton of Faith No More, Fantomas, Tomohawk and fuck ton of other bands. He is one of the best, defacto, vocalists ever. He is a master of all styles of vocals. Marilyn Manson. Maybe you hate him, maybe you don't, but chances are, you don't think he's a great vocalist. And while technically, he's not the best, he's one of my favourites due to how emotional his voice is. Warrel Dane. He has a weird voice and it takes a while to get used to it, but dear jesus fuck, he's good. Devin Townsend. He's a god in so many ways, it's no surprise this is another area of his true greatness. Nivek Ohgr. Skinny Puppy fame, and the 2nd vancouver vocalist on this list. He's defined and redefined and helped stretch the boundaries of industrial countless times, his voice in and of itself is weird and I don't care if you don't like it, he's quite the talented singer. VITROL. Anaal Nathrakh and the best blackmetal vocalist to ever grace the genre. He has the most intense shreiks and strange vocal styles, but he's also quite a good operatic vocalist when he wants to be. I'm sure I have more, but i'm sure this is enough for now. I don't know if rappers are allowed to be included in this, or I'd add them. [editline]30th October 2010[/editline] Oh, and OP is an intolerant ass.
Courtney Taylor-Taylor has an amazing voice.
Dave Mustaine. He isn't really a great singer compared to a lot of other singers, but for the style, and genre, it is perfect.
Stina Nordenstam, hands down.
Hevy Devy.
Why has nobody mentioned James LaBrie from Dream Theater :saddowns:
Because I can't stand him. I've seen him live with Dream Theater, show wasn't bad but he was pretty crappy to be honest.
Because I can't stand him. I've seen him live with Dream Theater, show wasn't bad but he was pretty crappy to be honest.
Really? I saw them twice in the past year and he was pretty good. Especially for older songs, I prefer his live versions. Like Under A Glass Moon, studio vs. the live version from Score.
I just don't think Labrie is a good vocalist. Technically he's fine, no problems there, but he just doesn't have any trace of charisma for me. Simply not entertaining which is a shame.

He has more of a stage presence than John Myung :v:
