It works with [URL="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XGKSFGbVC0"]both[/URL] (in fact, any carbonated beverage should work, though some don't react as powerfully as others) but from what I can find, Diet coke is apparently less sticky than regular, so it's easier to clean up.
Don't know if that's true or not, though.
