I have a Cooler Master HAF that gives access to the backplate, but I still find it to be obnoxious. The whole push-spring-twist setup is just kinda silly. Again, pricepoint is the major factor in picking AMD over Intel - and provided you're not trying to max out every single game that's being released on the market, there's no need to spend $200 extra on an Intel proc when an AMD can fit the bill nicely. Really though, there's no need for animosity just because someone picks one brand over the other. Intel provides better performance, but at a hefty price. There's just other things I'd rather spend my money on, and I don't bash on Intel users just because they choose to spend their money on a more expensive processor.
I honestly don't really care about an extra five minutes on what is a one time install. Otherwise sure go with whatever brand ya want I'm not gonna police personal opinion, it's just that it's kinda the point of the video in the OP to max out every game ever :v:

Problem is that an i3 6100 for like 120 dollars beats the shit out of even the FX 8350 in most case, as of right now, there's not really any reason to go with AMD over Intel, unless you're looking for an APU
Do newer AMD processors still have weak single thread performance by comparison? I wasn't really excited about the "more cores" strategy because games typically don't take advantage of them

There aren't newer AMD processors that are geared towards the performance market. Only ones since 2012 are budget.

Unless you mean Zen that's coming out. In which case it appears they're dropping the MOAR CORES AND GIGGLEHURTS method. Though according to documentation they still may have 1 FPU to 2 Int units which is kind of subpar IMO.
