Happens all the god damn time to me. I bought a nice pair of Sony head phones about 8 months ago, usually it happens within 2-3 months of owning them.
I just opened the non-working cup, and hotglued the loose wires. Years later, when another pair had a non-working cup, I soldered it.
It's relatively easy to fix. In fact, you can simply tape the wires to the contacts.
haha youve never heard of a company making shit so it breaks? a fun fact; we coulda had lightbulbs which lasted forever years ago, have we got them? no because itd run them out of business.
I feel your pain, same thing happens to me all the time. I've even started my own collection of broken earphones! got like 10 or smt...
That happened to me with my old Fatal1tys, but that's because the only good thing in them were the speakers (which were amazing) the rest was crap and the cable/jack messed up.
i now own 2 Sennheiser HD201's
cost me less than 50 euros for both, they are rock hard, solid and sound awesome
It's supposed to happen
/Late
I've had the exact same problem on multiple pairs ff headphones. Of course, constantly running over the cord with my chair probably isn't good for them.
Had this happen with 2 of mine at nearly the same time on the same side.
3rd one made everything sound like Satan
My headphones eventually pan over to the left or right after a while and it pisses me off like nothing else because I can easily tell distance in sound but not when it's all over in the left ear...fuck.
Oh and the soft parts always fall off and tear.
You know what sucks more? Long headphone cords.
They shouldn't be touching the ground from a sitting position at a computer dammit! :argh:

They are amazing for everything else though. I love being able to stand up and walk away to turn off the lights while still wearing my headphones... the ones attached to my desktop PC on the other side of the room.

*cough*, Microsoft, Xbox Live Headset*cough*
do they make wireless headphones
GOOD ones I mean
I'd like to find some wireless headphones that are buds. I saw some from that company that has the crazy name that starts with an S, but they were around 400 dollars, which is pretty fucking ridiculous.

Sennheiser? :v:
Also, are there any good wireless headphones out there? I'm getting of my earbuds dieing all the time, so I may start looking into some wireless if there's any that are any good.

Too much effort for me. :colbert:
This happened to me like two days ago >:c
I mean sure, they were $5 but goddamn.
im clumsy as fuck so I always manage to break my headphones

Hey, guess what. I have a wireless headset. I can wander downstairs while listening to some rant on youtube, I can even take a piss while still listening to music.
Get a wireless headset, you won't regret it.
whether it be tripping over the cord, or accidentally snapping a pair in half when I took them off my head
Why I got a Bluetooth headset, cables are always the only problem in the headphone breaking.

Pissing to some rock musics always nice, I piss to the beat :v:
Every single pair of ear buds I've ever owned, and I literally mean EVERY SINGLE PAIR, has had the left headphone go out.
The same thing happens to me too. I think the headset I am using right now is my 4th one. It has lasted quite long, though. A year or two now.
This one is not in perfect condition either. If I move my head around (causing the wire to move around) the headphones make this weird static noise, which is quite annoying.
I always have headphones with the wires on both sides, Except this piece of shit pair from Best Buy that broke in a week. I've yet to return them, but they're still under warranty.
I still have this problem. Mostly in earbuds I use for my MP3 player, which pisses me off since I can't just switch to speakers.
That's never happened to me.
I have a $20 pair of Koss headphones that have lasted me over a year now, the only reason I replaced my last pair was because I snapped them in half because I was frustrated with a program. Typically if there was ever a problem with them I'd just hit them and they'd work.
No, you should get these.
As in, wireless headphones. Unless the wires for your headphones are surrounded by 1" diameter steel cable, they are going to break if you aren't really careful with the cord.
No mic :(
I've had mine for 2+ years now, I generally am not careful with them, and they still work like new.
I've been blitzkrieging trough my earphones now.
