It's probably a pre-alpha thing, at least I hope so since they look worse than the original Rome: Total War.
Why is everyone now using the term pre-alpha? Alpha is a working prototype of the game which is what this is, otherwise pre-alpha would just be drawings and sketches and shit. Dumbass devs and their naming conventions
now this is a game!
Needs 100x more gore.
Holy shit that was so many enemies.
Those trees are fucking HUGE.
Have they said anything about the potential moddability of this amazing-looking game?
Holy shit!!! Take my money!!!
Those trees are fucking HUGE.
Look like common-sized trees to me. Depends on where you live.
I really don't like those tracers for bullets, really hope you can turn them off, I think the unit cards look pretty awesome though.
Animations are still shogun 2 like but wil likely be changed
Did they put trails on the arrows or is it just me? I know it's makes it easier to see where the arrows are coming from, but it looks terrible. And the AI still looks like it needs tons of work, that's literally my biggest complaint about any total war game. Still, I'm probably gonna buy this, even if I didn't buy Shogun 2.
Thought this was a movie from a glance at the thumbnail. But, it's really like a movie already :v:
Am I the only one who finds Total War games boring? [editline]24th April 2013[/editline] Incoming hate.
Am I the only one who finds Total War games boring?
I don't know why you'd think you were the only one, of course there are others who don't enjoy the game.
Incoming hate.
Did you expect anything else when you posted in the thread for the second gameplay reveal of an eagerly anticipated game?
Am I the only one who finds Total War games boring?
your not, everybody hate this kinda game you know... [sp]if your stupied[/sp]
Glad to see that units are a lot more responsive to commands, especially while shifting formation Always hated trying to turn to face a charge and watching my units derp around for 5 seconds
I agree, but tbh I felt it made this demo look a lot more arcadey/casual. It was unrealistically quick movement which I'll probably prefer from a gameplay standpoint, but it was a little immersion-breaking when I watched it.
Regrettably I feel Total War is streamlining itself a little too much... in the same way that Silent Hunter and Microsoft Flight Sim are. The battle is very linear and the area covered is actually very small. I hope that this is just like, the first "cinematic" intro mission and others will be the grand scale that previous Total War games have given us.
Am I the only one who finds Total War games boring?
I like the game but I do play it in windowed mode and tab out from time to time as long sessions of building farms and managing cities can be pretty boring.

Have you seen the siege of Carthage gameplay? that should be more to your liking. But still these are just historical battles.
Never played a Total War game but this has me considering it.
Those trees are fucking HUGE.
iirc the trees of Teutongburg were actually that big. That or they're playing off all of the trees in the original rome being the size of R-7 rockets for no reason.
I love these games.
