I do believe that people need to become much more secular and modernise. Islam for more or less is a religion that is less matured than most other religions, many religions have adapted to the modern-age and now treat people more respectfully. Its religions like the radical Catholics and the hardcore Islamic that are putting society under. No woman should be forced or convinced that they have to wear an item of concealed clothing and told to let their husband do her talking for her. No gender must be told what sexual orientation is better than the other. If people have beliefs that are indifferent to yours respect and debate but not let it result in violence and oppression. If everyone discussed it out with reason and an open mind the world would be such a better place

Rape is not the fault of the victim at all and there should be NO chance they will be punished. Let me tell you about Japan. During WW2 when the US was pushing the Japanese back from all the islands they had occupied, the Emperor and military were gearing up every man, woman and child to fight to the death. Then the US developed the Atomic Bomb. They dropped 2 on Japanese cities and Japan shortly after surrendered. It showed the Emperor the reality of how many people would die due to him if he continued the war. The Japanese system of honour was thrown out the window in lieu of the preservation of his peoples lives. Japans culture was not wiped out, it was allowed to survive as opposed to the culture of the Nazis which is forbidden in most countries.
The comparison to Islam is that the fighters of Islam are as fanatical and suicidal as the Japanese. If there was to be war then the options would either be annihilate Islam, fight and come to a temporary peace or force Islam to change. A self-destructive culture cannot be preserved so until things changed, the conflict would always return.
The Nuclear option is not something that is chosen in an instant, it is chosen when it is the lesser of two evils. When the options are complete annihilation or Nuclear weapons, it is the merciful option to use them. Have a sook about your culture being violated but the only issue raised with it is the issue you place with us.

Well that's a nice sentiment and all but it's not really true. The psychological effect that they have is indispensable and correct use of it's reputation can win wars. Japan was scared into surrender, the Cold War was held at bay for decades due to MAD, NK's possible Nuclear weapons have been a factor in keeping back international pressure and the India-Pakistan conflict has come to a standstill after they both got Nukes.
