Yeah. There are laws on drug-related films. I don't know the details but I know that a drugs film must have clear anti-drug messages. For example, in trainspotting the guy dies because of the cat shit, that's a legal requirement for any drugs movie.

trainspotting didn't really have a biased message.
[sp]a heroin addict gets a one in a million chance to completely start over and takes it, the ending alone balances the bias, because heroin addicts are a very unlucky bunch
but you're still right, most drug films end in ways that are completely absurd, requiem for a dream for instance, the only really plausible situation the characters end up in is jennifer connelly's. the mom wouldn't have gotten amphetamine psycosis that fast as it doesn't happen that fast, the black dude would have been put in rehab not some prison work program and jared leto would have gotten immediate attention for his arm and the gangrene or whatever didn't look that bad anyways and you don't get it that fast[/sp]

Haha sorry, i was totally baked, just got back from a holiday at the time and wasn't able to smoke for 2 weeks, so it hit me hard.
