wow.
he was one of the first writers that started graffiti off in england and from what ive read hes painted more trains than you'll ever ride on.
if you knew anything about graffiti you would understand but i guess you don't so :P
No artist in any subculture should ever have their worth measured by prolificy, and people like you who claim to be experts shouldn't go around plugging artists for work they've only read about.

As MakeStreetArtLegal gets more serious about its work, and less casual about what needs to be set up and who needs to do what, I and a few other moderators from the Steam group will be incorporating everybody who wants to participate in one way or another. To find out what we need from you, and what you can provide for us, we will be asking some core questions to anyone who contacts us hoping to join in on the action. These questions are simple and nonchalant, such as where your skills lie and how far you are willing to go to do something that the group needs done. On the other side of the spectrum, we need designers and promoters, people who can efficiently make us revenue so we can keep our website up and people who can get the looks and designs we need. We need artists on and off the street, and critical thinkers on and off the street. Once I have set up who can answer to who, I will put a list of people who will be available to contact, when and how they will be available. This message will also go in the steam group for those of you who need to refer to it easily. As of now, I am available to contact through Facepunch and Steam almost daily, and for sure on the weekends.

I'm usually always available, I can't seem to get it to open right now.
Where is Portland did you see that? If you remember.
I live near Portland and if you go back make sure to check out the trains they have tons of stuff on them. Most of it is crappy black tags but you see some cool stuff
Do you mean the trains on the shore by the bike/walking path? If so, I checked them out but didn't take any photos of them.
So, I've always wanted to go taggin up some bitch ass buildings in the ghetto. But how would one approach such a task? What's the penalty for being caught by the police? and how do you do it discretely?
I wouldn't do it in the ghetto. You could accidentally write on gang territory and that could get you fucked up. Or you could just get mugged by some crack head. Plus enforcement is bigger in high crime areas.
Start in the suburbs, work your way up.

He treats people like dirt, he's arrogant, he plagiarizes, he has an ego the size of the United States, and he's just an overall douchebag.
There's no reason for me to like him. You could make the argument that his art redeems him, but I don't think so.
Did anyone see him on the Colbert Report? He was really embarrassing and awkward :v:
I've heard fairey is a gigantic douche, plus repetition has to end at some point I'm tired of OBEY especially now that teeny boppers can wear it as clothing.

there was a time when teeny boppers weren't wearing OBEY stuff?!

I don't know. I can't stand his douche-baggery either, or the fact that he's the epitome of a sellout. But still think the OBEY wheat paste thing was was really cool. I guess it's just nostalgia, I remember when I first saw one of those when I was a kid, I started seeing them everywhere. Whenever I would visit a new city I would go searching everywhere I could for them, it was a ton of fun. When I found out what was I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever heard, and thus started wheat pasting. I found it really inspiring, and in a lot of ways it lead to me becoming a visual artist.
So even though he is a cunt, I can't help but love seeing that Andre logo. Plus I've always been adamant about separating the artist from the art.
But, to each his own.
How would one go about discreetly carrying a stencil kit (i.e. piece of cardboard and spray paint)? I know for wheat pasting you can carry the paste in a cup, etc., but for a cardboard stencil, I think you'd be pretty suspicious walking around with a piece of cardboard with a picture cut into it. Any ideas?
Pizza box.
there's a guy here who writes šnof everywhere, just the word, nothing really fancy at all
I've seen it from all over the country, the weirdest one was when I saw šnof on a truck container that belonged to the maersk :v:

Carry stencils in a guitar case, if you're looking for a way to hide it.

If someone slashed my beautiful art like that I'd punch his fuckin can around.
The second piece is a little bit cliche (that's no reason to be a dick) but the first one is just fine. It's much better than some douche bag writing in regular mop marker letters with nothing of value. Why would you write a message of hate anyway? Anyone who thinks that stuff is cool is a stupid dick

Homemade, for what reason was the dumb rating for? "someones asking a question about stencils? omg artfag"
I got a dumb rating from homemade for asking someone if they cleaned their skateboard bearings.

It's good to know he's being an elitist about everything 'street' towards anyone. That way I know not to listen next time he rates me dumb for defending why tagging is a bad way of starting your graffiti career.

lollolololol
So your better than real writers because you make a crappy stencil out of stolen images on your computer and go out and do gay stencils while dissing real writers the whole time??
Real writers will always look down on "street "artists""
