Graffiti and Street Art - General

Who decides what's legitimate art and what isn't? Anyone claiming to be able to make that judgement is ridiculous and stupid.

i had a graffiti in front of a supermarket but after 1 week they erased it :(

I once saw some graffiti on a wall in my local shopping area, it was like what you'd find in the saferooms of Left 4 Dead, some of it being direct quotation.

I'm getting into this thanks to the train rides I take on a daily basis, the walls of the station are covered with meaningful graffitis

What does homemade have against skaters, pound for pound were tougher than graffers.

I know I'm better than this "real writer" because all he did was write over something that took more time and effort with some stupid shit. Everything you've posted that you call "writing" has literally been just that, some bad writing on something. The train and Robbo aren't that bad but they aren't that great either. Maybe I'm uneducated in London graffiti but at least I'm unbiased, you seem to be all up it's ass. Do you even do anything yourself? Who cares about skill when the message you're putting out is a stupid one. Everything you've posted is either just a name or someone covering a tag with some dumb shit. You make it seem like London's graff "writers" are all middle schoolers or something.

Wait why would anyone just go out and write on something. I mean if you're like doing some cool, really colorful words n shit like most of the stuff you see on buildings, then that's neat. But if you're just scribbling shit on things and over other images, what credibility is there in that?

Was there someone who posted a Mordecai and Rigby stencil a few pages back? Might have been in the Regular Show thread or it might have been here, I don't remember, but they were awesome. I wouldn't mind making RS stencils myself.

That stencil looks nice. How long do stencils last in general?

If you make them with the right stuff and do it the right way they'll last longer than you need them to. The only problem you might come across is the lines you cut might dull and then you'll have to recut them to get a sharp image.

Coat them in varnish to help them last longer. I would suggest some clear acrylic lacquer or maybe thompson's water seal.

Personally, I would much rather see imagery all over the place than some barely readable bubble letter bullshit.
