I always enjoy those BBT threads that pop up on 4chan now and then. The ones where the cast makes incredibly lame jokes, and yet the audience laughs so hard it somehow manages to end humanity.
"hey Sheldon" "what" "Linux" LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
the smartest kid i know in school wears a bazinga shirt uh

Am I the only one who doesn't get these?
Am I the only one who doesn't get these?
I don't think you're supposed to.
I tried watching some of this show. It's not TO bad, just not something I can get into.
the smartest kid i know in school wears a bazinga shirt uh
I saw a hot redhead in a bazinga t-shirt? your point?
Am I the only one who doesn't get these?
By not getting them, you get them entirely.
By not getting them, you get them entirely.
Alright, follow up question: how does knowing they're nonsensical humorless gibberish make them funny?
Am I the only one who doesn't get these?
The joke's always "rofl guess what" "what" "i kno science" followed by bazinga/zimbabwe/bitchbingo [editline]6th January 2013[/editline] aka it sums up the entire show

the famous one that makes no sense, but makes you chuckle. Or well, it makes me chuckle.
Alright, follow up question: how does knowing they're nonsensical humorless gibberish make them funny?
I simplifies the show into a four-panel comic.
I really don't mind the show, but I can't stand how they glamorize "nerds" and make the wrong references to the franchises they are mentioning. They said that you can have sex in World of Warcraft. As a player, I find it a bit insulting that there's a group of people who have no idea how wrong this is and yet "YUCK YUCK YUCK It's funny cause WoW is for nerds!". Plus Penny is a whore and there's no way the main cast would have as much sex as they do. They have more sex than Jerry Seinfeld.
Chuck Lorre thinks that in order for a sitcom to work there needs to be sex at least once every five episodes.
People focus on the "lol nerds are weird" aspect of this show too much. There are a lot of genuinely funny jokes that seem to get glossed over by the "haters".
The joke's always "rofl guess what" "what" "i kno science" followed by bazinga/zimbabwe/bitchbingo [editline]6th January 2013[/editline] aka it sums up the entire show
Alright, a follow up to the follow up, and a follow up to that then: 1. Are you watching a version of the show translated/localized for a different region? 2. If not then is there more than one show titled "The Big Bang Theory" with this cast?
People focus on the "lol nerds are weird" aspect of this show too much. [editline]6th January 2013[/editline]
But that's what the show boils down to itself.
Making something "cutely weird" instead of "despicably weird" is still segregation of people for what they like.
People focus on the "lol nerds are weird" aspect of this show too much. There are a lot of genuinely funny jokes that seem to get glossed over by the "haters".
is this post a joke
is this post a joke
Hey rusty I like Sunny too.
just leave [editline]6th January 2013[/editline]
They say it's dissing it because they sort of force you to relate to Penny, the one who doesn't understand all the science. I found some angry rant about it from some social justice blog where they compared the show to Community (both have a very socially abnormal character but they're used differently). If I can find it, I'll link it here.
Community has a bunch of different characters, and Abed, the socially awkward guy is actually hilarious. Regardless Community's writers are a lot better and don't require a laugh track for people to know when to laugh
just leave
Seeing as I'm the only one here who seems to like the show, maybe you should.
I like the show
It's from the guy who wrote Two And A Half Men for petes sake.
I like two and a half men. I like these: http://trakt.tv/user/Mobrockers/library
I like two and a half men. I like these: http://trakt.tv/user/Mobrockers/library
Congrats for liking a lot of mediocre shows a few good ones IE: Community, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones.
Well, you make a solid point, but I must point out that- in semantics only- you're wrong. It's not a laugh track as it's an actual live audience. Just one from an entirely different take to the one that's shown.
I see people say this a lot, there's NO FUCKING WAY that that not a laugh track. The show is fucking made for laugh tracks with all the pauses, that is now a live audience.
The show is really just insulting for "real nerds", aka people caring about a subject deeply enough for it to influence the rest of their life. That's what I dislike about it. And in the beginning they sort of tried to get some sience into it, I remember an early episode dealing with string theory on a whitenboard and the physicist in me started to decipher the formulas while my friends laughed about Howard being weird. I think the main reason I dislike it so much is that it made me like it first and at some point I went "wait, this shit is actually insulting me". It's not very smart of me to begin with but eh.
It is performed in front of a live audience, the laughing however is added in post.
That pretty much makes it a laugh track. I haven't seen a single GOOD funny show using a live audience/laugh track since Seinfeld.
Am I the only one who doesn't get these?
holdg on firtzpatrick here coems a fucking Hot Nerd Gamer
