Very informative thread, sub'd. Also, when i was younger (8-13), i always ended up naked in my dreams. Can anyone tell me if that means something or not?
Does what I think would happen happen? :ohdear:
I think it would tell you the truth.
I hate those kinds of dreams where you're falling and shit, because when you hit the ground and wake up, you kind of slam back into your bed like you actually fell a really long distance, and it scares the everloving fuck out of me every time.

So what position do I have to be in for MILD?
Well, this thread. It has him in it generally, so here is the basic layout of events: I'm in an old cabin-like house with about 4 other people, and I hear them murmuring something about a wearwolf amongst themselves. I've never met these people, I've never even seen this house, but I have a sense of familiarity with this area. One of my companions puts a chair on the doorknob of the front door, and we go downstairs and turn to the hallway to the left. I'm leading, and I see something move at the end of the hallway, then I look to the left of the hall they faces the woods outside. I see Omen dashing off into the woods then taking off with his wings, then hear a pounding start at the front door. One of my companions pulls open the conveniently placed attic next to the window, and we go up, closing the attic behind us. For some reason unknown to me, I tell everyone to grab a shotgun (Which were conveniently in the attic as well.) and get on the roof. We go out the Attic window, and Omen flys directly into my face. I usually wake up at that point, if not, all I can remember is flying high above the ground and waking up in the "falling" wakeup sequence. I've never been afraid of heights, the unknown, or even wearwolf or wearwolf-like beings, and I'm not sure if its Omen's presence that terrifies me, but every time I have this nightmare I'm living paranoia the whole day.
have a lucid dream. Saxton Hale vs Werewolf
jesus christ this is the best op ive seen in a long time. ever since my back surgery i have remembered just about ever dream ive had, i think there's something wrong with me.
What's the best way to get up quickly and effectively in the morning?
also somebody who is able to get lucid dreams really easily: go on facepunch make a new thread titled "Im Totally Lucid Man!" then wake up
have a lucid dream. Saxton Hale vs Werewolf
Well, as I said in the Lucid Dreaming thread:
All of my dreams are lucid, but I can't control them all. Like recurring dreams and other dreams that have meaning other than "hurr subconscious hurr", I just can't do anything but be completely conscious during them.
[editline]09:22PM[/editline] I usually ALWAYS Lucid dream unless its my recurring one, so I'll try the "Im Totally Lucid Man" thread tonight and see if it posts it IRL :buddy:
So what position do I have to be in for MILD?
Any one have a answer? Cause it's 12:25 and I need to hurry up.
Very informative thread, sub'd. Also, when i was younger (8-13), i always ended up naked in my dreams. Can anyone tell me if that means something or not?
Still waiting for an answer...
I just got really interested in this, I've heard about Lucid Dreams, and I would love to try this tonight. When you try the methods, do you sit there with your eyes closed or open?
Still, having your own fucking subconscious show you your biggest fear would probably cause most people to commit suicide.
Still, having your own fucking subconscious show you your biggest fear would probably cause most people to commit suicide.
Why haven't I?
lol this is a dream
I just got really interested in this, I've heard about Lucid Dreams, and I would love to try this tonight. When you try the methods, do you sit there with your eyes closed or open?
Take DMT.
Try again, you sound really close!
Really? But... what was I missing? Where did I go wrong... why didn't I quite enter my dream?
My brother used to have night terrors. It was fucking scary waking up to your brother screaming as if he was being murdered. :ohdear:
I don't get it, what's the point of saying you've had a dream if you don't remember it? You might as well just say you haven't had one.
That's...interesting. It's a typical dream in itself, but Omen itself is what's odd to me. Either you're being followed by a demon (which is entirely possible, I've dealt with a friend who had that. Interesting story but very long.) Or, you're personifying your blackness into another entity so you can blame it on something. Like a harbinger of doom. I don't really know. I'm bad at symbolism, clearly. :frown: Sorry. Try registering at DreamViews, they've got guys who are really, REALLY good at this stuff. Link in OP, somewhere near the bottom.
Do I have to be in a certain position when using MILD? Or can I use my normal one?
Normal's best to reduce outside influences or irritants, but I think they've done studies and shown that for some reason sleeping on your side helps better. Do it normally, though. Sleeping on your side only lets you do it faster, but quite frankly, at this point in time you need form practice, not speed.
Does what I think would happen happen?
Whatever your absolute worst fear is, you'll see. The visualizing is what kills you. And a word of warning, whatever you think your worst fear is, I guarantee you have another one that's far, FAR worse. Read my post, it's like post 4. I quote me from another thread explaining mine.
Can anyone tell me if that means something or not?
"Naked Dreams: This kind of dream usually indicates some kind of vulnerability you are feeling. While that necessarily isn't the case, it's the usual, common interpretation to this kind of dream: where you are naked and everyone laughs at you, or you feel ashamed. This could also mean you aren't afraid to hide yourself, and have a strong affiliation to truth. This is all barring any sexual undertones going on of course." In OP. ): Read next time.
What's the best way to get up quickly and effectively in the morning?
I personally suggest NOT getting up quickly. Especially if you're in the dream journal stage, try to wake up naturally without an alarm clock. I'm in college and have classes at 8 o'clock in the morning. I'd be fucked except I've been working on my recall for about four years, so I remember everything immediately in great detail when I wake up. I still keep dream journals, though. I fill them out during class. I've got three boxes full of them in my closet. I like to refresh myself on dreams I had three years ago, because there are trends in dreams. But that's a whole 'nother story.
I just got really interested in this, I've heard about Lucid Dreams, and I would love to try this tonight. When you try the methods, do you sit there with your eyes closed or open?
It's basically sleeping while staying conscious, so close your eyes. You can't be super excited or it won't work. It's a gradual, kinda slow process.
Still, having your own fucking subconscious show you your biggest fear would probably cause most people to commit suicide.
Funny thing about that. My subconscious (who's always looked like Agent Smith(no idea why)), actually refused to show me my fear. He refused like five times until he thought I was ready. After that, I didn't sleep for three days and needed a very short bout of anti-depressants. I quoted a post explaining my fear earlier in the topic. I literally almost didn't let go of my girlfriend the entire next day. She thought it was weird, but I couldn't explain it. Like literally, my brain wouldn't let the words form. For a long time I thought I repressed it. You lesser humans don't stand a chance.
Oh, also, I was trying the WILD technique for the first time, and I was laying in my bed for probably... 20 minutes, and my whole body was feeling...numb, and felt like I was floating a little bit. I was hearing a little buzzing sound, and I was just counting like it said " 1. I'm dreaming... 2. I'm dreaming... etc.. " but after that, nothing really happened. I was just laying there, bored, so I got up and came back on FP.
When you hear humming, you're like a hair's width away from lucidity. You were really close, man. I've never liked counting, it distracts me. Next time, count until the buzzing, then just let your thoughts, like. Envelop you.
I don't get it, what's the point of saying you've had a dream if you don't remember it? You might as well just say you haven't had one.
Not exactly. You do technically remember dreams, you just can't recall the memories. That's a lot of what deja vu is. Certain things can trigger memories. The more you practice recall, the easier that gets. It's good to recognize you HAD a dream. Also someone should post next time so I can actually click the reply button. I had to do all this by hand, it was annoying. :saddowns:

But, I got bored of being somewhat "numb" or "paralyzed" and wasn't quite sure if I was doing it good. Oh well, next time I guess. Thanks for the answer.

It's hard to explain, you just have to keep trying until it works.
Thanks for answering questions, Zinayzen!
May I post dream logs in this thread?
May I post dream logs in this thread?
I'd say (for the sake of clutter), don't post regular logs. You should, however, post dreams that you thought were really really cool, or if you see a pattern, or if you want a dream analyzed, or something. But I'd rather keep logs out of it, if possible. If this thread gets really successful, then maybe I'll start a separate one just for dream logs.
Is it normal to feel pain that's caused by something in a dream?
Is it normal to feel pain that's caused by something in a dream?
Depends. While that dream situation is making your brain think it's receiving pain signals, technically it wasn't receiving pain at all and you're completely fine. But I've had stuff hurt me that shouldn't have and stuff that clearly should have hurt me that didn't. It seems to be arbitrary.
Damn last night I continuously almost went into a lucid dream state, but during the part where you are almost asleep it felt like my eyes were burning the inside of my eyelids but I didn't want to open them because of sleep paralysis. It made my heart speed up which eventually woke me up. This happened like 10 times :/
