Gonna try MILD again tonight - I remembered my dreams last time, so I take that as a sign that I'm improving - I ate some toast just then, so hopefully that helps (if it doesn't, I don't mind - I was hungry). And yes, Bad Company 2 is pretty epic.
I woke up around 6:15 of alarm, but didn't remember any dream, was disappointed and went back to sleep. I even had my notebook with pencil ready, and alarm clock was hidden in that notebook. Still didn't work. :/
So, I think I've had about 5 or 6 tries to get a WILD, but so far haven't gotten one, although I have had slightly better dream recall. Here's where I can get everytime, I get in a position, and just be completely still. Then I get numb and less aware of my limbs (at this point Iv'e been doing it for at least a good 20-30 minutes). When I try to move, It takes a good amount of effort, but I can do it. Only once have I heard a ringing in my ear. Can anyone tell me how close I am?
-snip-
WILD'ed for the first time in a while last night, I woke up in the middle of the night and concentrated on my breathing. After about thirty seconds I hear a loud crackling sound in my ears, (Like that of crumpled up paper) but panic and they go away. I remind myself it's just a hallucination and they start up again almost instantaneously. After a very intense ten or fifteen seconds of this, it all stopped. I opened my eyes to find myself in the same position I fell asleep in. Somewhat happy/discouraged, I try plugging my nose. I can still breathe! The dream was pretty fuzzy, didn't remember to do any of the stabilization techniques, so it faded away quickly. I woke up a minute before my alarm would've gone off anyway, so whatever. So to anyone too scared to try WILD, don't be. It isn't scary at all, and if it is, you are just making it that way. Remind yourself it isn't real, it is actually kind of fun. It's a very surreal experience.
With the MILD, just having the chant, do you experience sleep paralysis?
With the MILD, just having the chant, do you experience sleep paralysis?
I think, based on what I've read, if you do MILD and have a lucid dream, you'll experience sleep paralysis when you wake up, but not before (That's WILD).
I've only tried a WILD once, but it was extremely successful. I had just woken from a lucid dream and was pissed that it had only lasted a few seconds. I immediately turned over and imagined walking on a riverbank; seconds later I was asleep again and standing on the riverbank.
I tried this for 1 month before. I didn't get any dreams :smithicide:
With the MILD, just having the chant, do you experience sleep paralysis?
It happens with both, but it's more likely to happen with WILD. Again, though, it's not a big deal.
Alright, just doesn't sound too pleasant. Of course, who would expect it to be lol
Alright, just doesn't sound too pleasant. Of course, who would expect it to be lol
Eh. It's not always that bad. It's usually your mind going all paranoid and then weird things happen. GOD FUCKING DAMMIT EA GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER BAD COMPANY 2 SHOULD NOT LAG THIS MUCH.
Besides the listed methods, how else can you induce lucidity? Would just having the willpower be enough?
Besides the listed methods, how else can you induce lucidity? Would just having the willpower be enough?
Willpower's basically WILD. There are a lot of ways, but it's stupid to try them because they're more complex and less effective.
Last night when I lay down on my back, which I don't prefer while sleeping, I got quite closer to SP, I just don't know how close. As usual my hands and feet felt numb, my left foot actually felt asleep(same feeling as it occurs in daily life, where you have to shake it to 'wake' it again.). Then suddenly I heard something loud going off, I wasn't familiar with the sound so I assumed it was imaginary. Followed by my hands starting to feel warm and like it wasn't touching anything at all. I waited before doing a RC check while my heart was racing, and when I did... ...my tong wouldn't get out. :saddowns: How close was I to SP? I'm slowly advancing that's for sure.

So I went back to sleep on my side instead, and although I didn't have a lucid dream or get sleep paralysis, I remembered quite a few dreams, and it's rare for me to ever remember just 1 dream. Gonna try again tonight
Man, this sucks. Last night I had a another lucid dram where I could fly at will and it felt real and all of that shit, and when I said "Hey, I must be dreaming because I have this flying dream a lot" and then said "If I'm dreaming closest person to me randomly combusts." No one caught on fire, so I thought it was the real fucking deal. This dream was long, and I seriously thought it was real and I was flying (I kick in my sleep.) and then my friend came over to my house and woke me up. I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't woken up, and is it possible to lucid dream in a coma?
I cant tell what is a dream and what isn't anymore
I cant tell what is a dream and what isn't anymore
Imagine if the last 5 years of your life was really just a dream.. o.o
Imagine if the last 5 years of your life was really just a dream.. o.o
:geno:
Yesterday I dreamt that I cut people who've been mocking me up with a sword :geno:
I dreamt that I got a lap dance (without lucidity) :q:. Then I was walking and realized it was a dream, I tried to "delete" the scenery and change shit around, but it didn't work that well. I then tried to fly, succeeded for a while, until I had a false awakening :C. [editline]07:26PM[/editline] Any tips on staying aware while trying to WILD?
I had a horrifying dream last night involving a skinny bear that could run incredibly fast and an elephant that had just been born. I really should have done a reality check :P.
I keep have this reoccurring dream, I've had it about 3 times now. It involved me sitting down in darkness as three razorblades are balanced in-between each of my front teeth and a man in a mask is forcing my jaw down on them. They slowly cut into the bones into my teeth, imagine it going through them like chalk or something. The man is wearing these latex gloves and I can't break free. Slightly freaks me out.

Going to sleep.
Going to sleep.
Informative.
