holy fuck that ping pong ball thing works
Question: Are you supposed to have your eyes closed or open when trying a WILD? Is that a stupid question? xD
Closed.
Okay, so you relax, keep telling yourself you'll have a lucid dream, close your eyes, and keep your mind focused on something. How long would you have to do this for? When should you give up if it isn't working?
Is it wierd that in my dreams I have a sort of inability to open doors, and sometimes move? For example, when I open a door, I usually drop to the ground and spend ages trying to open the door. Also sometimes I cant move on my feet and I collapse and can only move my arms and head.(Well that happened in one dream) I also went to a prom in my dream and i got to some stairs (After some thing made me fly into the sky up to a massive fortress) that I had to go down, it was about 5 steps, I got there, I was on the ground, on my stomach, and then suddenly, all my limbs collapsed, and people laughed. Then I think my dream either went forward in time 3 minutes or I went to the emergency exit and everyone was in there, then when I went outside there was something making me fly around the fortress. It was wierd. What the fuck? Oh yeah. I had a wierd lucid dream about 7 years ago. I realised I was dreaming randomly, went to my mom, and told her she isnt real and I was dreaming. I wasted a lucid dream :(
My dream last night consisted of Israel nuking America and I had an anti nuke suit and had to save some alien witnesses from the nukes cause they were witnesses to Osama bin Laden launching the nukes, but when we sued him in court the aliens refused to turn up, I woke up before the outcome was decided.. I think I had that dream cause that night I watched the news on that Israel aid ships thing, I also had Coronation Street on whilst I was waiting for Britains Got Talent to come on, and in Coronation Street there was a court case, idk where the aliens came from but they reminded me of Avatar o.o

Do it for as long as it takes, give up whenever you want. There aren't rules to this stuff.
This "Lucid dreaming" sounds very interesting, and I've read about it servile times. I'm just creeped out about the side effect, the sleep paralysis, and now that you can speak with your own SC? I know my grandmother died in sleep, and was the last 5-10 years of her life afraid of sleeping. She have had lucid dreams. Have you heard of any incidents about people being afraid of sleeping after gaining the ability to lucid dream? And have you ever heard of any people beeing able to lucid dream die in their sleep, after expressing that they were afraid of sleeping? I should maybe add that we, in my family generally have a tendency to have a lively fantasy, I don't know how to explain it. But with movies for an example, I can get totally into the story, and sometimes even get on the edge of feeling pain when the person in the movie feels pain. I'm somewhat curious about this, and I have respect for it at the same time. I afraid that what creeps me out the most might be my own mind.
Zinayzen, can you post more about that ping pong ball thing? I've heard of it, but I'm curious what kind of hallucinations it gave you.

In about ten seconds, my brain had a hypnagogic orgasm. It was intense. I went lucid far faster than I ever have before. It's disconcerting waking up like that, but it's worth it.

Finally achieved lucidity the other night, although I don't really remember much. I can vaguely remember doing the nose-covered breathing RC. My tongue wouldn't go through my front teeth for some reason though. Not that you guys care or anything.

Did one last night, Was following someone somewhere whilst talking to them, realized "Where the fuck am I?" did a RC, the moment I stabbed my palms everything sort of blacked out and I was suddenly in some underground place. Set some things on fire with my mind, did the usual tomfoolery. Then I tried summoning my subconscious. I did but the moment I did I lost control. He looked somewhat like Boba Fett
Ugh, tried to do a MILD last night, but instead of drifting off, I started feeling all weird, things started flashing before my eyes and... I'm not sure, but what the heck did I do?

Wow, I was trying the WILD, and it was really intense. I counted as I breathed, when my counting began to fade out, I tried to hold focus, it was like I then started to hover above the bed, there were coloured dots, and my body felt kinda like .. an orgasm? It felt like it was hyper sensitive. My heart started pounding really fast then and I woke up. Happened like 5 times. Am I close? I have hard time getting an actual picture appear in front of me.
Since i read the thread on sleep paralysis (I do know that when inflicted upon oneself it isn't, technically) I have been training myself to realise conciousness, and the results are incredible, it really makes you think deeply on the actual presence of the mind and whatnot. Anyway, i've so far forced my way into conciousness inside a dream twice, but both times i didn't last too long (mainly because of how weird it is when you do it, and whoever picks up on the double-entendre that is that sentence you'll get a box) and how exciting it is. Anway, i have a very unusual sleep theme*, that if anyone wants to know about then you can ask away. *I don't really know what to call it, it's all very odd.
Sometimes when I wake up and I remember a dream I feel like I have been living my whole life....I don't know I can't explain but the dream or what I saw seems so familiar like it happened in the past.
I recently had a dream that i was eating weed out of a bag like potato chips with this girl in my school that i really like. We were in a dark room, but it was strangley well lit in our area, we were sharing the weed potato chips, and it seemed we were having a good conversation and we would both often laugh, even though i could not remeber the conversation. I dont smoke weed, so what the fuck does any of this mean?
I was in semi-control of a Lucid dream a couple of days ago. I was picking up at bannana then realized I was lucid dreaming, so I put it back down then struggled to pick it up. I woke up shortly afterward, but was wondering what caused the sudden control. My "pratice" before going to bed is standing in front of my mirror, pinching and raising the skin on my arm, poking my hand, biting my arm, then counting my fingers. Anybody have any advice on how to make lucid dreams occur more often?
I almost achieved lucid while resting!

That's pretty much it.
Oh, once when i was about 7, i didn't have any dreams for about 3 weeks, but one night i finally had one, and what a dream it turned out to be. It felt about movie length, and i was basically councious through the whole thing. When i woke up i remembered every last thing about it to, and immediately went about recording it (via illustrations of a 7-year-old of course) it was a pretty damn interesting dream. Oh and on that "dream guide" thing, i quite often have mine as alyx vance, i shit you not. She like walks along doing basically nothing, opening doors with her emp and explaining a bunch of stuff i can't really concentrate on. (in her voice which is quite cool) When it's not her, it's sometimes one of my brothers, or just my concious with a mind of it's own. (huh?)
I had my first lucid dream last night. I wasn't even trying to get one either. Me and Optimus Prime ate chicken nuggets together.
When I was maybe 15 I used to have nightmares of the world ending, whether it be by meteor/asteroid, world flooding over with ocean then freezing, nuclear holocaust, you name it I've prolly dreamt it. One of my most notable ones was when an asteroid hit in the Nevada desert. I usually never wake up from nightmares, so I survived the asteroid and wandered the now split in 2 earth, and I eventually got to the edge of the planet and I'll never forget what I saw. Earth crumbling and drifting in space, no atmosphere, just harsh beating sun and floating sand and rocks, water either drifting into space and froze or was turned to gas from the explosion of the asteroid. When I finally reached Earth's edge I looked down and I saw nothing but shards of earth and the core spilling out and freezing, when I looked up, I saw the other half of the earth, as if it'd been cut clean in 2. I've never seen anything more beautiful and terrifying in my life, and I've had this dream several times, I knew the outcome the second time, so I would try warning people and telling them what's going to happen, but of course no one wanted to listen. I also made this to illustrate what I saw before the hit. [img_thumb]http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs31/f/2008/202/7/6/That_one_nightmare____by_DudeManBro.jpg[/img_thumb]
Okay, I am really annoyed by my monitor. It is in my bedroom, right, so when I am relaxed and falling asleep, possibly to a WILD, it makes this weird *POP* noise like plastic snapping! I know it is my monitor, because it has only happened since I took my brothers monitor, and he took mine. When it pops, I get fully awakened. Guess I'll have to put it outside during the night :chatter: [editline]05:21PM[/editline]
[img_thumb]http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs31/f/2008/202/7/6/That_one_nightmare____by_DudeManBro.jpg[/img_thumb]
[img_thumb]http://wiiare.in/wp-content/gallery/mc2-background/wallpaper-21-ship-1600x1200.jpg[/img_thumb]

Saw a dream where a black cloud was moving in the sky like it was alive, over my grandmothers house. I told my grandmother to look, but she didn't bother. The black cloud then left. After that, a white cloud that also moved like it was alive arrived, and left quickly. Then a huge wind picked up and I woke up. Then I told it to my sister at the morning table. My mother overheard it and mentioned that she saw an almost identical dream 40 years ago, soon after which her father died and her brother was born :tinfoil:
