I still feel drained from the failed MILD I just tried. [editline]04:13PM[/editline] Plan for tonight: Screw the bed, lay down on the sofa Go lucid, with TV on Dream. Dream, boy, dream.

Hmm...I didn't lucid dream last night :saddowns: But...I wrote down enough of my dream for me to remember it... Artists at an Artists convention were singing me Happy B-Day... I was a mix between Ash ketchum, a wizard, and Ben 10. It was...Weird....
Sleep is a good time killer.
Sleep is a good time killer.
And also vital for our survival! I have a question, would staying like 3 months in a LD affect you in real life?
And also vital for our survival! I have a question, would staying like 3 months in a LD affect you in real life?
Would be intresting if the time wen't faster or slower in dreams. But i don't think it does so staying in 3 month's will be 3 month's irl
If you're ready, you can summon your subconscious. You can have long talks with yourself, but it's usually very scary and will probably wake you up. DO NOT ASK IT WHAT YOUR BIGGEST FEAR IS. You won't sleep for days, I shit you not.
Oh i'm so fucking dong this!
I'm planning on lucid sex tonight, to end my dream. Browsing various websites for people I'm gonna get it on with in my dreams :pervert: [editline]04:42PM[/editline] Right after I get my grips with the whole dream part and of course, having a nice chat with myself. Hey, can I create cups of tea in this dream? I'd like to have one with myself.

Damn, every time I read those dream threads, I want to lucid dream so hard, and when I go to sleep, I usually completely forget about it. Will try to do WILD, apparently I've been quite close to lucid dreaming a lot of times, because I got that buzzing sound inside of my head quite often, usually I want to try and hold it to see what happens, but after a while, it gets so loud that it becomes painful, and I turn my head, and it stops. Also, about half an hour or so after going to sleep, sometimes I feel like I'm awake, but have thoughts about things that make no sense at all. It's like a dream, except I still have my eyes open and don't see anything weird, I just think about complete nonsense. That, or really short dreams where nothing happens at all. Those are usually followed by what you call a hypnic jerk. About mirrors, do they always show creepy stuff, or only when you are lucid dreaming? Because I remember looking into a mirror once in a dream, it wasn't lucid though, I was dreaming that I was a girl, and could see myself in a mirror, it looked perfectly alright (and awesome :pervert: ).

I stumbled upon it about an hour before I decided to fall asleep (all up in this bitch).
Question: I love dreaming!
Question: I love dreaming!
Answer: What do you love?
I've tried WILD once, it was pretty amazing, I was on the edge of reality and dreaming. I could hear my mom trying to wake me up, but still be in the dream.
I had only once a simil-lucid dream... It was fun, but it lasted only a few minutes. I was looking outside from my kitchen's balcony, then noticed something was wrong with reality. Tried to use some earthquake powers, and they did not work. I started to ask myself if it was really a dream or not... Then i crushed a house with my force powers. Awesome! I tried to fly, and it worked for a few seconds, then I hit the ground and woke up. But it was a lot of time ago, and I did not know all these awesome, useful things.
I'm very sceptical about all of this, is there any hard scientific proof? I have an open mind, but everything that I've read so far seem to be far too far fetched to actually be real. If the case may be where this is correct, I have a question. I was reading up on WILDs, and it turns out they can induce SP (sleep paralysis), I'm interested in if I close my eyes, will it lessen the effects of the SP? For instance, if I'm attempting the WILD tonight, and it goes wrong, do I still see the waking nightmare through my minds eye?
Actually, taking a nap is a good time do to a WILD. Also, Zinayzen, do you visit Dream Views? If so, what is your username there?
Planning on doing a MILD on the couch tonight.
In fact that would probably be a regrettable course of action, what if it's something I genuinely don't know about and it's bad it's been buried. :smithicide:
I'm only posting this one more time. Someone asked me what happened when I asked it what my biggest fear was. "The hardest part isn't being told what your fear is. It's seeing it visualized in front of you. My fear was that the person I love more than anyone else would die. It only lasted five seconds, but I still remember it. Basically I was forced to watch my girlfriend die and I couldn't do anything about it. It was only five seconds, but your brain doesn't really care about time so I saw a lot of things happen that I really don't want to think about all happen at once, and yet all seperately. I saw her look at me and beg me to help, right before she screamed. And then I blacked out and woke up drenched in sweat. Apparently I was like yelling and stuff too. Words can't even describe it. Trust me, whatever you THINK you're afraid of, it's not your biggest fear." I have no idea why this is, and it's not exactly something we can STUDY (obviously). It is a trend, apparently, that it happens when you're lucid dreaming. Dream, boy, dream.
Be careful with that. When you're on the boundary between waking and sleeping, occasionally outside influences will leak their way into your dream. Which isn't bad, but if it's a commercial, have fun dreaming about OxyClean.
I'm planning on lucid sex tonight, to end my dream. You can create whatever the hell you want. Try to imagine simple stuff first. Just visualize it in front of you and then if it's not there, spin around while still visualizing it. Then it'll be there. Your brain has a problem with materialization, apparently. It happens to most people.
Actually, taking a nap is a good time do to a WILD. I never thought my posts were relevant, people'd already asked any questions I had. Lurking seemed more efficient.
What about music? If I have a song on replay (specifically THIS) does that matter?
What about music? If I have a song on replay (specifically THIS) does that matter?
For MILD, I'd say go for it. You'll hear that music when you're dreaming. When you hear it, remember that it's a dream and you're good. If it's WILD, don't do it. For MILD, if you keep that looping, I suggest changing your mnemonic to reflect the music. Like "I am listening to music while I dream. I am listening to music while I dream." or something like that.

When I am in control, I am lucid. When I am lucid, I can hear the music. Good 'nuff? [editline]06:04PM[/editline] This is possibly the best thing discovered. Fuck time machines, this is Garry's Mod IRL.

Just something that will make you go OH HEY I HEAR MUSIC I MUST BE DREAMING HANG ON I WILL DO A REALITY CHECK TO MAKE SURE OH SHIT IT DIDN'T WORK I'M DREAMING COOL. And this stuff's existed for...well, forever. The techniques have only been around since like the 80's, as far as I've researched. But there are ancient, ANCIENT documents suggesting lucid dreaming. As long as there's been dreaming, there's been this.

We roughly know what they ARE, but that's pretty much it. I think I quoted some of the definitions in the OP. But everything you've read is correct. I know it sounds far fetched, but it completely works. And the thing with SP is that it only really happens when you wake up in the middle of REM sleep. Which means if you try WILD and it fails, you won't get it, because you won't wake up in REM sleep. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure when it happens. It almost never happens to me, but it happens to some people almost every time.
"When I hear music, I am dreaming. When I am dreaming, I am lucid."
Last part's redundant, though. If you realize you're dreaming, you'll be lucid. The longer the mnemonic, the less likely it is to be remembered.
I've read all of it and it was defenitely worth it. Very informative thread, would read again.
