So seeing as this is a megathread, I can finally get this question out of the way.
I haven't had a dream for the past 6 or 7 years, seriously. I fall asleep, it's dark for a couple of seconds, and I wake up. No dreams.
Why?

You just don't remember them. Practise your dream recall.
Whenever I try to get into a dream with something I've tried to arranged such as me and my friends going to the park or something of the sorts, it skips parts. Like say we're all walking to the park, it'll show us at the entrance and then right at the park, like we never walked, it just 'teleports' us in different places.
I can't imagine myself walking down a hallway, just starting to walk, then instantly going to the middle, and then the end without any steps taken. Is this just me? Or is it something with my brain having problems with materialization or movement?
I remember in a dream once i knew i was in a dream and i wanted to wake up, so i knocked on my front door thinking my dad would open it (and wake him up so he wakes me up) It didn't work :ohdear:
Weird... my tongue doesn't go thru teeth in my dreams, i feel pain in my dreams.
Everytime i dream about something shocking like i fall from a cliff. Right before i impact, SOMETHING in real life times perfectly in. For example someone knocks on my door, my dog wakes me up. It can be anything.
It's scary.
I had a lucid dream once. I was in a building and there was a woman laying naked on the sofa biting her little finger. I walked out the room. But something inside me said "What the hell man!? Get back in there and nail that chick!" So I forced myself to walk and got on top and started thrusting, like fully consciously! Was awesomme, but weird at the same time.
Anyone else often not themselves during their dreams? kind of like playing a video game character? Oftentimes i've noticed that I end up as completely different people in my dreams. It's often accompanied by a pervasive feeling that that person isn't "me" per se, but that i'm controlling them, like in my dream i'm a totally separate entity from the person that i'm controlling. I never switch control, and stay as one character throughout the entire dream. I even sometimes end up as a character of the opposite gender (not gay or transgendered or anything) but it doesn't really bother me because, once again, it's not "me". Even when i am me, it still feels like it's not really "me", and i still have that controlling feeling. Anyone else get this? It's probably from too many video games. Also, like other people have stated, my vision occasionally flips to third person.
I tried WILD once, but my mind kept drifting away...then I tried MILD. No luck, but I have been remembering my dreams. THEN I tried doing the trick of putting an A on your palms. It would have worked, if I had remembered it. I was tying a hot air baloon to my watch for some reason and I from what I remember, it wasn't there. It should have acted like an automatic reality check, but no cigar.
My brain has some problems with reality checks too... Sometimes I feel it's a dream, but my mind immediately tells me the opposite.
Damn, what a dick.
But the only times I manage to lucid dream, I can use superpowers on the first try. :smug:
I still have nightmares about that cat.
Have I ever told you guys the story of my haunted futon?
I tried that walking down stairs and counting, but at one point I just fell over and kept sliding down the stairs. I grabbed onto a ledge and pulled myself up and began going down more steps. Dont remember anything more, must have drifted asleep :P

Nope. Do tell, always love those sorts of things.
maybe someone could help me analyze one of my dreams, theres this girl, who i do have a crush on, and were in a alley way just up my road, and were talking then all of a sudden we start making out, but i see it from a 3rd person perspective??
and i found out the other day that shes not really interested in me at all (for those who think dreams are a portrail of the possible future)
You have to make sure its definately YOU who's kissing her. That plays a big part.
Okay, so about a year ago, I was having a particularly annoying day and was working late into the night. When I got home I realized my bed sheets were in the wash and it would be another 20 minutes before they'd be ready. At this point it was 3 AM so I just wanted to sleep. I decided to sleep on my futon instead. However, when I tried to fold it down into bed position, as luck would have it, it was stuck and wouldn't budge. So, as a last resort, I made up my mind to sleep on the thing as was, in couch-form, because I just wanted to sleep.
That's where things got strange. I never did figure out why, but as I quickly learned, my body, for some reason, would NOT tolerate my sleeping on the futon instead of my normal bed, and the end result was the single weirdest night I can ever remember having. I suffered a full and unexpected onslaught of bizarre sleep disturbances, including SP hallucinations lasting for 15 minutes (I checked the clock during this), sudden and unexpected bouts of EHS (exploding head syndrome), dreams that refused to let me go lucid, dream characters telling me to change my sleeping position because it's uncomfortable, and the dream itself reminded me of a tweaker's LSD wet dream.
I have my dream journal from that time somewhere, but I'll need to dig through some boxes to get it.

my guess is that your couldn't imagine yourself, or believe it, kissing her

I guess once you've managed to summon your subconscious it can summon you

Fuck thats creepy
I found a nice way to get some lucid dreams. Fall asleep with a blindfold on, if you wake up and you can see you're dreaming.
Here's a few of my dreams:
Going up and down in a metro elevator while Doctor Octopus clones are outside. About halfway through a boy and his dad comes in. I never exit the elevator. Long ago.
---
Walking in my kindergarten. NAKED. With things sticking to me and with a pacifier in my mouth. VERY long ago I dreamt this. I think I went outside too and there were people in clown masks (The creepy kind) and they held knives i think. I think this was two diffirent dreams, but as I said, dreamt this VERY long ago.
---
I was on a sloping hill all decorated like a beach. Some guy walked up to me and said "Hey, you're lucid dreamin' now boy!". I don't remember him, he was caucasian I think? Well, I wanted some naked hots. BAM! there they come out of a hut. A hot hut :v:
---
I dreamt I was in a werewolf costume and somehow got into a lego factory.
snip
Why is it that some of our most memorable dreams are from when we were little babies
I remember once I dreamed I was part of what seemed to be a ghost hunting crew and we went into a haunted house and hunted ghosts. I don't remember being scared, but we couldn't catch them and they evaded us like the Indians hid from the kids in Peter Pan
Holy fuck.
I ate two bananas and two glasses of milk last night. Proceeded to have my first long, clear lucid in weeks. It was a MILD, not a WILD. I realized it was a dream when I was walking down my school stairs. Created a portal in a wall and visited places. Made the dream clearer by taking off my "dream glasses" and rubbing hands together. It was super vivid.
i tried to do a wild this morning and i was going all good and then suddenly my heart beat went absolutely crazy, i became pretty hot. this was at the point where i couldn't even feel my hands anymore, and sort of my legs. it got so bad that i just snapped my eyes open and jerked forward, and i was still really excited. i also had some of that imagery shit but not sure if i had sounds - would they be really noticeable, or could they be just like ordinary sounds, building cracking etc.

I told you bananas are awesome.

You need to be on steam more often :buddy:
SO I have questions about distractions when trying to go WILD and how it feels to fail it when I feel like typing stuff up. So yeah.
Also, I got closer last night after eating bananas on a whim. Dear lord, I need to eat two tonight.

I'm at my girlfriend's house staying the summer. Don't have Steam atm.

You should remember to do reality checks every now and then, getting a MILD is much, much easier than a WILD. And for me atleast, MILDs last longer. I can do more stuff in them.
