Alright, hello all. I've been lurking this thread for the last few pages after being pointed here by a friend. I hadn't gotten around to posting because quite frankly, I haven't much to say. I became interested in lucid dreaming a couple months ago, completely out of the blue, after I saw a short guide to it in a 4chan "info thread". I failed on the first few tries, of course, but my interest only multiplied when I found I had a friend (not the same one who showed me this topic) was a very experienced lucid dreamer, and after talking with her, reading more guides on the internet, seeing Inception, etc... I have so far achieved lucidity twice. The first time was more or less a failure, it only lasted a matter of seconds before I did something wrong and blacked out (I turned around too quickly) but the second time was successful. The thing is, I have no clue how to induce it again, it seemed rather random. It was a dream within a dream, in which I dreamed I had gone to sleep reading a book about lucid dreaming, and proceeded to immediately stop and check whether I was dreaming. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of the multi-level dream, I was only able to remember a fraction of it... I did do a few experiments, but ultimately came unprepared. I don't think the details are all that important, but I would like to know whether it counts as a WILD, or what... One thing that I do think is important, is that I think it happened as a result of my going to bed several hours later than usual. (I will typically get ready for bed around 11:30 PM, but this particular time I wasn't asleep til after 3 AM.) Furthermore, when I awakened into the first dream again, I was sitting in my office chair at some ungodly hour... I don't know if I really need help, or what anyone can make of my rambling, but I felt I should post some info. I'll probably be frequenting this thread, and might share a few dream logs.
have a badass black gangster sub
Last night I knew I was dreaming but I didn't really do anything about it, I was just hanging out with my friends on a basketball court or something. [editline]05:05PM[/editline] It's a step in the right direction I suppose.
Okay I've tried going in to the hypnagogic state for a few nights but I usually fall asleep or I get too restless and open my eyes. My hands started to tingle one time and my chest felt weird and I got scared and opened my eyes. In respects to the restlessness; I was wondering if I wore these kind of heavy earrings that are made of all metal that weigh my ears down if concentrating on them to try to become hypnagogic would work?
[quote=zinayzen] Jake, I don't know you very well, and I don't know what you do in your day to day life or what shit you have to go through (or put yourself through). But literally the only solution I have to this entire problem is that you've been trying to disguise your true self or feelings or you're trying to conform somehow in your life, and your subconscious is basically trying to tell you that it's okay not to do that. You didn't believe it before, but it's showing you that you're an awesome guy and you need to be comfortable letting that part of you through. [/quote] That actually makes so much sense. If I go back to the week long dream I had my subconscious told me something similar to this. [editline]01:13AM[/editline] And for the record no I am not in love with it, as I know it is just a piece of me and that it's all a dream. The fact that I do some of the things I do or let some of the things it does slide is because it's happy. [editline]01:14AM[/editline] Wow..
i had a dream that I had a lucid dream :pwn: shit was weird
School year is coming up too, and looking at my timeline my subconscious shows up at more often this month than it did previous ones. Maybe it's trying to fix me before school or something. [editline]01:16AM[/editline] [QUOTE=plazzydan;24351795]i had a dream that I had a lucid dream :pwn: shit was weird[/QUOTE] I had a lucid dream that I had a lucid dream I had a lucid dream that I had a lucid dream I had a lucid dream that I had a lucid dream I had a lucid dream that I had a lucid dream I had a lucid dream that I had a lucid dream. Nothing special :smug: [editline]01:27AM[/editline] OH I have yet to explain what I did in my nap. Well I didn't ask it what the hell was the reason for that dream but instead, I replayed it. I read the dream from my journal about 6 times before I went to sleep and memorized it. I did wild and constantly thought about what would happen if I went lucid in that dream. Some time later I saw the dream in the exact perspective it started with and felt I could walk in. I walked in and continued the dream, but this time aware I was dreaming. My subconscious didn't figure out I knew I was dreaming which surprised me.
[QUOTE=Hmn30;24348673]I don't remember the details because I didn't have a journal, but lately, my crush has been appearing in my dreams a lot. This has been happening for about a month, maybe more. Sometimes I talk to her and it's awesome, and sometimes I'm never able to see her face. I remember this one time when she was looking away, I walked towards her but I lost her in a crowd of people. Something interesting (but I'm not to sure about it, so bear with me): I love her hair. When she's looking away, she has her hair loose (How I like it the most), but when we talk, her hair is tied. Does this mean anything? Note: The crush is my friend irl, but we don't talk as much as we used to. I'm pretty sure she's not interested in me (or friend zoned, I guess), so yeah. When she's in my dream, I get really disappointed when I wake up, because, well you know, I get reminded of her. I'm fearing that she is my subconcious or something, but I doubt it.[/QUOTE] help please
I didn't have a lucid dream. I win :smug: [editline]09:29PM[/editline] [QUOTE=Hmn30;24352120]help please[/QUOTE] Don't worry about it your just in love. Go ask her out
Hm okay let's see. I would say that the times you talk to her reminded you of when you guys were in communication (for lack of a better word that I know of) with eachother more often. Now you are being reminded how distant you are becoming when you are unable to speak to her in your dreams. I'm not completely sure what the hair thing means, maybe it's symbolizing how if you don't take some interest into what she does as often as you did you'll be chasing your own image of her. Zinayzen got me spot on so it's better if he interprets [editline]01:36AM[/editline] [QUOTE=SteeleCratos;24352156]I didn't have a lucid dream. MILD is better to do at night, right? Because trying WILD is pretty hard since you're tired.
[QUOTE=SteeleCratos;24352156]I didn't have a lucid dream. I win :smug: [editline]09:29PM[/editline] Don't worry about it your just in love. Go ask her out[/QUOTE] I did, two times (on msn, I know, I suck.). Both times she gave me legit reasons why she was busy, but still. I can tell she's not interested.
Not afraid of cutting into sleep time = WILD -> More likely to be successful Want some good nights sleep = MILD -> Less likely for success if not experienced
[QUOTE=solid_jake;24352471]Not afraid of cutting into sleep time = WILD -> More likely to be successful Want some good nights sleep = MILD -> Less likely for success if not experienced[/QUOTE] I thought MILD was easier. :v:
[QUOTE=Hmn30;24352469]I did, two times (on msn, I know, I suck.). Both times she gave me legit reasons why she was busy, but still. If you see them face to face they are more likely to studder and you can easily detect lies from truth Downside : If you're nervous as fuck you studder too [editline]01:44AM[/editline] [QUOTE=sa2fan;24352499]I thought MILD was easier. :v:[/QUOTE] It is easier, but it's success rate is low if you haven't practiced doing it before.

If she's really not interested and I was supposed to take the hint the first (two) time/s, I don't want to come off as desperate or pushy, although she probably thinks of me as such now. I don't want to make it worse. [editline]08:48PM[/editline] We're still friends, we talk sometimes. I don't know what will happen if I keep pushing, I don't want to lose her completely.
Wow that sucks. I guess wait until she drops the green light. Atleast your mind is helping you get over her.
I think i have that disorder that causes me not to be able to go to sleep. The name escapes me.
[QUOTE=Slacker101;24352770]I think i have that disorder that causes me not to be able to go to sleep. The name escapes me.[/QUOTE] Insomnia?
[QUOTE=POWA KILLERDeux;24352833]Insomnia?[/QUOTE] Ah-ha there it is. Also any links to mp3's to help me lucid dream?

You love her hair and you love her face, too. If her hair wasn't tied up it'd be obstructed, so it happens that way so you can get the best of both worlds. Sounds like a typical case of infatuation to me, honestly. Have you tried talking to her? I know lucid dreams are awesome, but I guarantee a real girl will always be better than a dream girl. [editline]02:06AM[/editline] Or, if you want another angle, then I agree with Jake. Assuming (and this is a BIG if) that the dream does somehow mean something other than the fact that you just want her, then it probably means you're afraid that you'll always be chasing her. When her hair's down it whips in the wind and shows emotion, but when it's tied up it's professional and businesslike. You're worried that you can't catch her but when you do it won't be the same as how you felt about her when you were longing after her, or it means you feel like if you two did get together the spark wouldn't be there, it would have been extinguished by the realization that this girl isn't what you'd dreamed she'd be. But I'm probably right with the first one. [editline]02:06AM[/editline] or it could mean she has a wild side and a normal side and you're secretly afraid if you were in a relationship the wild side would always come out whenever you weren't looking or occupied with something else [editline]02:07AM[/editline] that whore
I bursted into laughter at the last comment. I should type up that nap story. But it has no action and it'll probobly be too boring for you guys.
pfft do it

Internet is about to run out. I'll have the story ready when it gets refilled (about 30 min)
