I should probably address the whole "bot" thing. I'm going to use Inception and Matrix terms because that's the only thing you people are capable of understanding anymore.
Your subconscious is the Architect. It makes the world, it populates it. Now, you insert yourself into it. You have conscious control over YOUR actions (and you could over other peoples', too), but everything else is pretty much controlled by your subconscious.
Now, remember how in the Matrix everyone just went about doing their everyday things but they could randomly turn into an Agent if they needed to? That's how your sub's personification works. (This is mostly why my sub looks like Agent Smith, it's how I, er...explained it to myself.) Basically, ANY character can become your sub's "vessel", if you will.
[B]However.[/B] While all actions are controlled by your subconscious, not every person [I]is[/I] your sub in the sense of my Agent or Jake's Ellen. In our cases, it's basically the exact embodiment of pure [B]you[/B]. It's like they're 100% US, stripped of all the bullshit and bias and barriers and blah blah blah.
The other characters, while controlled by your sub (think like a puppeteer), aren't necessarily that. Which is why you can have villains in dreams that aren't...you. They're like characters with personalities used for a purpose. Your brain has a massive store of knowledge and memories and facts, and that's utilized to extremes.
If I have a dream that I'm having sex with someone I know fairly well, it's not really like having sex with myself, it's more like having sex with my memory of them. Which is still creepy, but not the same as, say, me having sex with my pure self.
