It also has a Beretta logo yet it is clearly not a weapon made by that company.
Sometimes people who make home-made guns don't want the people buying those guns to know that they were made by some brainless oaf in his garage. So they pass it off as an authentic factory-made firearm (very common in Khyber Pass). If it's a country like China the prospective buyer won't have much first-hand knowledge of firearms so they wouldn't be able to tell that it's a fake.

It will still easily penetrate the engine block of any light vehicle and completely ruin it, in addition to completely fucking up anybody inside of the vehicle unfortunate enough to be in the path of the round.
Just found out that large calibre live rounds make excellent paperweights.

I would love to have a 105mm shell or something just chilling on my desk. HOLY SHIT IS THAT A TANK SHELL ON YOU DESK? No retard it's a paperweight.

Rather have a 155mm shell from a howitzer.

My old History teacher had one of these. Kept it in the back of the room. Explosives had been removed, but it still looked bitching.
Of course, that same teacher kept a lot of crazy shit about:
* A can of Zyklon B from the Holocaust (empty)
* A Mayan cup made from a human skull (and now used to hold pencils)
* A Soviet flag
* An Imperial Russian flag, complete with bullet holes
* A Nazi flag, complete with pics of the soldiers who captured it using it as a rag.
* A WW2-era Japanese katana (which he used to disembowel any exams that were flunked.
* A framed picture of Teddy Roosevelt
Dude was crazy awesome.

we need more teachers like that
also, isn't Zyklon B the gas used in WW1?
So many things said in this thread make me want to educate you all, but I can see it would be a waste of time.

It will fuck up parked aircraft, light skinned vehicles, some of the more dated light armour when hit in the right spot, and other enemy materiel, hence the 'anti-materiel rifle' thing.
If I were you, I wouldn't be commenting on something's usefullness based on absolutely nothing factual whatsoever.
we need more teachers like that

No, they used chlorine and mustard gas in WWI. Zyklon B was used in gas chambers to murder people en masse.
By the way, anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of mechanics can make a simple open-bolt submachine gun given the right tools and materials. It's so ridiculously simple I'm surprised there aren't more of them floating around.

it's just a pesticide normally but was used in gas chambers in death camps during the holocaust.

I actually use a .30-06 cartridge as a paperweight. Tapped the powder out, though, so it can't explode.
Also:
These make good ashtrays.

Be a man. Leave the powder it. Gives it character. (I have the primers taken out. All the weight of a live round, none of the danger. Well, some danger. But not much)

What parked aircraft, exacly?
.50BMG does this job, slugs can do this job.
There's no task for it that other guns don't do allready.
EDIT:
Did some research and aparrotly it's designed to kill BTR-90's and STrykers through their side armor, but 12.7mm and 14.(something)mm does this job quite good and the M82 with low recoil and semi auto is really compareable in efffect with that big gun.
Also 20mm has the capacity to carry more payload.
But it's a stupid rare piece of equipment it's not like everyone carries it "OH JUST IN CASE" cause it's far too heavy for that. Airstrikes are for that kind of tasks.
Well, that's me convinced. We should make you head of procurement so all us dumb fucking grunts (you know, the people who actually use the shit you guys like to pass judgement on despite never having seen it in person let alone used it) have the right weaponry for the right job!
If you're not in the military, you have no place to comment on military weapons or their effectiveness. By your logic, Javelins are stupid rare pieces of equipment because barely anyone carries them "OH JUST IN CASE". It's a mission-specific weapon and is used as such, if you honestly think that makes it any more or less suitable you're an idiot. If I'm going on patrol and expect little more than infantry contact, I won't take a Javelin with me, I might take a couple of 66s and maybe a DFSW platoon in support with an 84. If I'm going out specifically to kill tanks, bet your life I'm taking as many Javelins as they'll let me. The same logic applies. If you want to fuck up someone's planes and light vehicles from a long way away, you take something like that rifle, since Javs are prohibitively expensive and total overkill.
[editline]11th January 2011[/editline]
Please, somebody else go ahead and use all the bullshit you've learned from Call of Duty, B-grade movies, and a severely misinformed opinion of military equipment and warfare in general to make some incredibly stupid sweeping statement about my fucking job. Do I tell any of you how to flip burgers or best pack someone's shopping into a plastic bag? No? Fuck off.
The funny thing is everyone can comment on everything they want.
IT's called opinon.
It's completely worthless but everyone has it.
Your opinion is that I'm a clot. My opinion is that humping on 20mm rifle cause IT FIROS A BIG BULLIT is immature and stupid.
That rifle is by no means improvised or remarkable.
You're not a soldier, so your opinion on HUMPING 20MM RIFLE COS IT FIRES BIG BULLIT is fucking stupid.
Feel free to hump a Javelin instead to do the same job. Oh yeah, and foot the bill for a missile which costs as much as a small house. Or you could go the .50 BMG or 14.5mm routes, and possibly not achieve your objective.
You're an idiot. You have zero qualification to comment on military equipment or how it is used, because you do not know the first thing about either. Stick to talking about things you actually understand.
I have a bunch of .22 rounds laying around in my drawer :ohdear:
You can tap 22 rounds into firing because they don't have primer.
You need to fix that now.

I'd have to agree here.
Just put them in a container so they won't rattle (packed with cloth or something, or a box if you can get them to fit snugly enough) and don't smack them around. Shoot them at first opportunity; if you don't plan on shooting them, either flog them to someone who does or look for a better means of storing them. They aren't made of pure explodium, but you want to make sure if you do knock them around, they aren't likely to land particularly hard on anything (including each other).

Would you like me to list off all the things we carry which weigh a ton and are longer than a man which kids on the internet don't call stupid?
I'm only gonna be up another hour or two, just saying.
[editline]12th January 2011[/editline]
All this not even taking into account that most rifles that size can be rapidly and easily broken down into components so the burden is shared amongst the section, by the way. A Carl fucking G cannot.
