Anyone who knows the kind of movies James enjoys shouldn't be too surprised he went cheesy with this.
exactly my point. still charming though
After all the buildup to the reveal of the game and how much he avoided showing it to us, I was really hoping for an "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" moment where the game is actually just the title screen or something.
This a crepy paste
Aww that was cheap as hell
I just came upon this and I'm having a blast watching it, however I'm not a huge fan of how things are turning out. I loved the first videos because all the creepy stuff came from James himself and the dazed state Polybius drags him into. Things like his irrational behavior, all the cuts and odd angles, him doing things unconsciously (locking himself in, recording the game etc) and his overall slip into insanity are enough to make something genuinely terrifying. But things that happen externally, such as the moving reflections, the spooky ghostly prints and the machine teleporting itself around feel kinda out of place here. [sp]I found that jumpscare lame tbh.[/sp] I know James loves cheesiness but I hope he won't turn this into a cliché fest full of sfx. This whole project is amazing.
Honestly the cabinet being behind the door felt less like a horror movie moment and more like a looney tunes moment.
For some reason I found the "Look at the game" then jump to "No! Don't look at the game!" in one of the earlier videos really funny, but in a good way. I guess it's such a AVGN thing for him to say in a situation like that.
I haven't really been finding it creepy because it's low level movie college level spooky at best, like it ain't creepy at all, unless you are a child who falls for the most obvious horror tropes in the book, the Nerds acting isn't all that great either but hell I've just been enjoying it for what it is, a fun little Halloween outing with the AVGN. Minor nitpick though, red glowing eyes? that scene with the reflection was actually an effective scene, but he totally ruined it with the red glowing eyes, like how cheesy is that.
Apparently that was it. He uploaded it all as one video on the Cinemassacre channel and threw in another jump scare lol
What an awful 150th episode. Especially with other episodes like the Berenstain Bears.
Apparently that was it. He uploaded it all as one video on the Cinemassacre channel and threw in another jump scare lol
I kinda figured as soon as he showed the actual game and the ensuing jump scare. The final scene+jumpscare was a pretty popular trope during the 80's I believe, so it makes sense for him to end the series on that.
I wanted him to say 'ass' more. Like, "Holy shit, fuck you your stupid piece of garbage arcade machine. I'll shit all over the screen, yeeaaah, now nobody's gonna see your stupid cursed ass screen. How do you like that shit?~"
