2pac was murdered, thus he is a better artist. :downs:
Every classical performer I've met foams at the mouth when I mention playing something non classical.
You have had the misfortune to meet really unpleasant classical performers then
They're not particularly unpleasant people, classical tutorship just doesn't prepare you for playing modern music in most cases. Not that I'd be much cope in an orchestral setting, but that hasn't been raised as a point
Every classical performer I've met foams at the mouth when I mention playing something non classical.
well if they are pretentious enough to call themselves a "classical performer" then yeah probably
well if they are pretentious enough to call themselves a "classical performer" then yeah probably
No they're not pretentious, they're a classical performer if they play classical music
Like a jazz performer plays jazz music
yeah but telling other people makes it pretentious
"Hey, you're a musician right?"
"yeah"
"What do you play"
"I play classical."
Pretentious fucking asshole right there
My fists were shaking typing it trying to contain the rage
"I wanna be a musician so I can become rich and famous."
Musicians don't play music to earn money or reputation. Musicians play music because they can't live without it. :argh:

You can't live without money :colbert:
Get another job then
Music shouldn't be just for the money
Music should be for the music. Lots of musicians who're labelled have other jobs. Although obviously, if you're lucky enough to be able to support yourself purely off your music, then good for you :v:

I heard someone say, "Metal sucks, Hip-hop rules"
How do you explain that metal music from the 70s still is really awesome when hip-hop and rap artists are changing each week to people no one ever have heard of?

See what you're referring to are pop artists. Pop artists change so much because there is a very large immediate profit to be had in selling an image on a couple of singles and then having it fade back into obscurity. There was really only one major pop musician/group that I can think of that really redefined what pop music was: The Beatles.
I don't really like them, but they did completely change pop music as a whole. Beyond that, it became less about the artists and more about their publicists and how to make a quick buck.

All about opinions. There are hip-hop artists that don't ''change''.
hip-hop and rap artists are changing each week to people no one ever have heard of?
What is this supposed to even mean?
How do you explain that metal music from the 70s still is really awesome
You don't.
Music is subjective.
