The Worst Thing You Have Ever Heard Someone Say About Music V2
I'm getting right-pissed off at these metal elitists, supposedly anyone who listens to Progressive Rock is a "poser".
Really? Most metal fans I know of love prog and vice-versa.
I know a guy who is a metalhead and ignorant to any form of softer music. I like a fair bit of metal, but this guy listens pretty much exclusively to grindcore (hey look thisispain! another offshoot of punk!) and anything that doesn't sound like it is boring. Which is fair enough as that's his opinion, but every discussion we have about music is basically him interjecting and saying "god this is so boring it needs to sound more like anaal nathrakh"
"Who are the Beatles?"
*Plays Let it Be*
"This song sucks"
*Puts headphones on and I hear some crappy scremo band because she has the volume at max...*

Was it actually screamo? Or what you think is screamo?

For fucks sake.
I have a friend who only cares about the image of a band. Like, his uncle was in a band and they were pretty good, and he got to meet a bunch of cool bands and stuff, but he only cares about keeping his image as a goth metalhead. For example, once at a youth meet someone on stage mentioned wanting to go to a Family Force 5 concert, and a lot of people agreed but my friend said "Yeah, how about no." I said, "Why not? I've seen you rock out to them plenty of times." And his response was: "Yeah,I like them, but they're not hardcore style enough.
I was listening to Drum and Bass once when he was over, Pendulum came on, and he really liked it. I said I'd want to go to one of their concerts because it'd be cool, and he said, "No it wouldn't, I doubt they'd be hardcore enough."
Also he tries to have hardcorestyle, which in his eyes are skinny jeans with at least 7 chains, boots that come up to his knees with 15 unneeded buckles, and leather gloves with skulls on the knuckles (he couldn't get leather so he cut the fingers off of mittens and glued plastic skulls to them.
I'm really wondering why I'm still friends with him. He's a douche.
Start listening to lots of bands who don't care about their image.
Thing being this metal elitist I know thinks anyone who doesn't listen to just thrash metal is a "poser", it just pisses me off every time he says it, I enjoy variety dammit.
Listen to Anaal Nathrahk and tell him if he doesn't stop being a wanker you'll carve out his ear drums and ram his arm up his ass.
I just think that people who go out of their way to label bands a genre or whatever and go too deep into it is just irritating for me. Especially on Wikipedia, people who try to be original just end up getting their one album listed as 5 different genres.
It makes it easier trying to discover new music dude, just gotta deal with it.
Except viruses on ocassion, and lots of people still like owning physical copies, and there are all the companies who on ocassion try to bend pirates over and fuck them with the long dick of the law.
Besides it feels good having a physical copy of an album, cause no matter what happens to the digital copy you always have a backup.
Also that was a completely irrelevant point to mine.

There's nothing like thumbing through the booklet that comes with a freshly bought CD.
Plus I love wrestling the sticker off the jewel case.
I prefer digipaks to be honest, look better in my opinion and you still get the book most of the time.
What pisses me off though is what metallica done with death magnetics booklet and printed it out normally, then punched a fucking coffin shap through it, completely destroying your ability to read the lyrics.
:argh:
Stickers are my arch rivals
If the CD makes it home without being opened I generally put the sticker on my bedside table. Most CDs end up opened in my car in the parking lot, though.
There is nothing more satisfying for me than glancing upwards and seeing how full my CD rack is getting.
I always end up destroying the case.

grindcore is an extreme variation of hardcore punk
man this thread is just asking for it
It's feels good when your dad has stolen some of your CDs and put them in the car.
