Phil Collins' motown album was actually good :smith:
Listen to Abbey Road. It's a prog album.
People can deny this, but it's true. :smug:
Classical music is includes all the moods of human being believe me no need to other types of music they are just depends on sex and money. I hope you will restrict yourself as soon as possible.
That guy was insane. I mean, I can accept that he is restricting himself to classical but there is no need to dismiss other genres like that.

That's some mighty fancy generalizing there.

Woop, 200th Post and a pageking.
I just tried playing some ukulele for my lill bros, and they were just going all "Can I go to my bed and go to sleep now" :saddowns:
aww i bet it felt like a kick to the nuts
Anything which has a central concept of restricting oneself from something completely harmless is probably not a good way of life
Well, I can't call them songs now, can I? Songs need vocals.
:what:
her:don't you have any good music?
Me: Sure this one! (Does not change track) :)

Out of interest, what were you playing? I mean, most of my favourite music sucks when it's played out loud to more than one person.

Oh right o: They're decent, though I've only listened to Superheroes.
It's a bit ~~WeIrD~~ though so it's understandable
:what:
What makes this bad?
Technically what you said is correct (although to current standards on what is considered a song ABSOLUTELY FUCKING RETARDED)
If you want to be the biggest hated cunt in the world you could go by sayin a song is created with singing and instrumental accompaniment, which is basically the 'official' definition, and if it's purely instrumental it's not a song but still a composition.
Although I'm getting a feeling that that's not what you were talking about and you're just an idiot
No, that's what I meant.
For instance, it annoys me whenever I'm playing Chopin on the piano and someone says "Hey that's a great song!". I once tried to explain to my friend that a song is a piece with lyrics and instrumental accompaniment, to which he retorted that "It meant that then, but that was in 1850! A song now is any type of music!"
Oh okay then
Fair doos :v:
[editline]30th April 2011[/editline]
Still a douche move though lol
I'm a very pretentious musician, I like to keep it on the dl here though :v:
My friends turn something on. A Parody song or something or some Trance/Techno. I put music like Give Peace a Chance by John Lennon on and they tell me to turn that shit off.

People don't like some music that you like. I'm amazed.
No, that's what I meant.

The kind of people who know and recognise specific chopin pieces aren't likely to call them songs.

Most people I know are only really impressed with my playing and not the piece. They say stuff like that to encourage my interest in Chopin and discourage my interest in composers like Cage and Poppe :smith:

fuck em
People don't like some music that you like. I'm amazed.
Not talking about that.
How I endure their shit and they cant endure one song.
fuck em
There's definately no way they'll ever make me lose interest in them, it's just their intolerence of such composers is saddening.
"Led Zeppelin? Oh yeah he's pretty good."
"Led Zeppelin? Oh yeah he's pretty good."
I used to think Pink Floyd was one guy.
I used to think Jethro Tull was one guy.
For 30 minutes.
Not talking about that.

Talk to them about it then. Or get new friends if it bothers you "that" much.
When I move around different people, I hear different sounds. I just become accustomed to it and if they enjoy it, so do I.
How often do I meet drone doom fans? Never.
I'm more likely to find people who enjoy Stevie Wonder's stuff though.
I'm fairly sure I could play a Beatles album at a large party and people would groove.
I used to think Pink Floyd was one guy.
Now that's foolishness.
But thinking Jamiroquai was one guy, isn't.

I think you should be gladdened that people appreciate great music like chopin that in many cases isn't what they're used to
