"Jazz basses look shit" This is from a retard who plays an apparently unbranded HXC silly bass.
I think the worst thing is when people presume a band will be crap because they don't have incredible equipment. Makes absolutely no sense.
"Jazz basses look shit" This is from a retard who plays an apparently unbranded HXC silly bass.
Wow, that is foolishness.
Dubstep is basically just slowed down dnb, that's what it's described as.
Wrong. Nice slowed down DnB ya got there broski.
In a conversation about Doom Metal Me: "I'd also recommend some soul, but that's another story." *: "You will find that incredibly difficult." Me: "I beg to differ. But we'll stay cool with Doom for now." *: "In general, I dislike the voices of black people. That is why." :smith:
What the fuck Well it definitely belongs in this thread, that's just awful
Poor fucker's just cutting himself out of a massive area of music.

And if he doesn't like that particular kind of singing quality then you can't hold that against him, as it is only his opinion. I myself wasn't too fond of female vocalists until I started listening to more soulful singers like Joss Stone and Imelda May.
We need to have a female vocalists thread. We men don't have to rule it all. :smug: [editline]31st May 2011[/editline]
But in his defense, I think you'll agree that a lot of african/carribean singers have a very distinct singing quality. Thankyou for pointing that out. :downs:

They do tend to have a different sounding voice than caucasian people, just like they have different looking skin. It's not a racist thing to say.

Thankyou for pointing that out. :downs:
Wow I don't know how you jumped to that conclusion from my post but you'll notice I wrote "a lot," not "all". Obviously generalising an entire race is never a good thing, but it's common knowledge that there's a particular type of singing that is done best by people of african/carribean backgrounds. And if there's a person who doesn't like that kind of singing, then there's nothing wrong with that.
 That's not what he said. They do tend to have a different sounding voice than caucasian people, just like they have different looking skin. It's not a racist thing to say.
:slick:
But in all seriousness, music shall not be biased on the colour or creed of an individual. We are one human race, and we shall live alongside in this valley of expression. Whether we find the other one different or not, they shall be loved and honoured with precisely the same love you'd give one another.
:smugdog:
so if you like male vocals more than female vocals, you're a sexist okay
so if you like male vocals more than female vocals, you're a sexist okay
Correct, sir.
I like English prog more than Italian prog I am therefore racist
Me: "So. I hear you like Cryptopsy. What's your favourite album?" Them: "The Unspoken King."
Cryptopsy should have just called it quits when Lord Worm left.
Success = Good music
At least I didn't say not to bother trying at all. :v:
For now I forgive you because you're slightly awesome. :smugdog:
Cryptopsy should have just called it quits when Lord Worm left.
Levasseur's back in the band, so hopefully they move away from br00tal hXc kid deathcore.
"Papa Roach's lyrics are deep and meaningful."
"Papa Roach's lyrics are deep and meaningful."
Opinions, opinions.
Opinions, opinions.
Well technically everything in this thread is an opinion...
Well technically everything in this thread is an opinion...
Which are subjective. That means they aren't bad, because other people will share that opinion. If someone posted something about someone saying that drummers are not musicians, that's just stupid and ignorant and a bad thing you've heard someone say against music. Just saying "this band is crap" is not a bad thing because other people will share this opinion and opinions are subjective.
Well technically everything in this thread is an opinion...
No, some things are funny, some are horrible and actually mean something. "Band is crap" or "This band I hate, someone said it's good" is not interesting.
I think I failed myself. Showing some guy my library for literally a second before he goes off, sees one "Ornette Coleman? Who the hell is that?" I reply "urm... it's... avant-garde jazz funk" He bursts out with laughter. WHY did I do this? :smith:
nah, dubstep is dnb brought down from 170bpm to 138bpm.
Try bringing a drum & bass tune down to 140 and see if it sounds anything like dubstep. Here's a hint: it doesn't. Dubstep has a half-step rhythm. Drum & bass (with the exception of the drumstep subgenre) doesn't.
Post-Dubstep is awesome. It doesn't sound anything like the dubstep most are accustomed with but sure sounds good :v:
