[editline]6th June 2011[/editline]
Is it or is it not computer-generated noise
Generated? No, it's been utilized by an artist. No "generated" about it. Synthesizers can be anything, you should know that by now :v:

"Metal is pretentious bullshit that people listen to because they think it makes them look cool." - Guy that listens to My Chemical Romance, Underoath and Alesana.
He bashes metal, then listens to metal like MCR. Pot calling the kettle black, eh?
what if the pot/kettle is made from stainless steel
Well it's composed by a human so it isn't computer-generated no
I don't know if the majority of noise artists do this or not but it's remarkably easy to automate a noise track generator in any major DAW. Throw in some randomization, turn some knobs, hit render, repeat, album in 20 minutes.
If someone violantly plays a saxophone with no actual musical structure, you can't just say "Wow, that's bad music."
You can say it's not music but instead performance art.
I enjoy Noise for the harshness and general strangeness of the genre. It's hard to take it seriously, however. Like the way people say Merzbow's "1930" album is a concept album about the turbulent events of the year. Yeah, it's loud and brutal, but there's not much else you can express through that genre. Avante-Garde genres are great but it's a bit hard to take it seriously if it's just being experimental for the sake of being experimental with no concept, or themes or anything... Meh, just my two cents.
I have to disagree with you there. I find music that has no theme or concept to be even more serious, since it focuses on the musical aspect instead of relaying a certain viewpoint. Then again theme can mean different things. Some examples of what I'm thinking about is Medeski, Martin & Wood (if you've heard of them :v:) and John Zorn. Akayz, I see you doing this way too often; giving words incorrect definitions instead of looking them up.
"Generate: to bring into existence." Akayz, I see you doing this way too often; giving words incorrect definitions instead of looking them up.
Computer Generated means automated production. That is how I interpret the word. :smug:
"artists" who paint a black square on a canvas and consider it art
That is art.
"All music that is possible to create has been made, why do I need to hear new stuff?" He's psychedelic so he is forgiven. :smugdog:
That is art.
just too deep for you

At my school, you can choose to either do english or spanish. I chose spanish because I'm pretty done with my english course I've been doing. So, there has been a mess recently about a english schoolwork they were doing about each group's favorite bands/artists. My friend, that does english, said that, while one of the groups was presenting, a girl said that Soul music is like a mix of Country with Pop. Soul music is like a mix between Akayz and smug. No wait, you can't mix 2 of the exact same thing.
I think all music is performance art.
Somewhat defeats the concept of performance art as a thing distinct from other varieties of performance, though. I get the feeling semantically you're a bit...loose.
