Somewhat defeats the concept of performance art as a thing distinct from other varieties of performance, though. I get the feeling semantically you're a bit...loose.
Wow...none of what you just said was vague at all. :smug:
just too deep for you
you know what, a hipster diving teacher would be really funny "okay, let's dive down to the bottom here guys... unless it's too deep for you :smug:"
'I don't like metallica or disturbed because they are too mainstream' And, I shit you not, that was said to me while he was listening to Nickelback.
'I don't like metallica or disturbed because they are too mainstream' And, I shit you not, that was said to me while he was listening to Nickelback.
Very interesting to hear. Please post more things like that because you are great.
Very interesting to hear. Please post more things like that because you are great.
Not sure if that's sarcasm or not, but at least the particular post in question was pretty funny.
Not even I'm sure, but that stuff is quite hilarious to hear.
I respect my friend's opinions, but he's really getting on my nervs recently. He keeps trying to persuade me that songs with screaming aren't music. It's fucking bullshit and pisses me off so much. He thinks unclean vocals is just screaming at the top of your lungs and nothing else. I keep trying to tell him that there are right and wrong ways to scream, but he's just being a stubborn dick.
Get him to sing along to Heir Apparent by Opeth, post the results
According to those who do not like metal, all metal songs sound the same.
According to those who do not like metal, all metal songs sound the same.
Same goes for every genre in existence
I think I said something stupid today to my friends mom. She was talking about "Heart" and I asked her if it was a genre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_%28band%29
According to those who do not like metal, all metal songs sound the same.
Some don't like it but can appreciate what it gives. It's all about finding the thrill from it.
Same goes for every genre in existence
I think it's more that the kind of people who write off entire genres based on just that are likely to be the same people who can't discern differences between songs. They base music more on if it's 'good' or 'bad'.
The 3rd definition is not relevant in today's society at all.
Why the dumb the third definition, even if it would be relevant, wouldn't apply in this context I was just clearing up the definition of the word to avoid confusion
The 3rd definition is not relevant in today's society at all.
today's society is dull.
"music is dumb but I love the beatles"
"music is dumb but I love the beatles"
Music is dumb? What kind of thing is that to say?
Well, on youtube, I upload Dream Theater songs and this one guy commented on Home about "Dream Theater ripping off Tool". Ofcourse, I noted how similar riffs had been used before by bands like Pink Floyd, SoaD, etc. Then he starts to tell me that DT "ripped off genres and styles and that Tool is completely original". This incredibly dumb argument continued for a while until he just said this to me:
Remember this, fanaticism is not very* productive and tends to confuse emotions with reason. You´re too caught up in what you feel for DT to see the greater Truth, with a capital "T". But hey, you´ll get there one day. Peace man, don´t take it so hard...
Even though I had alot of proof to back up my side while he just kept telling me the same shit over and over again. PS. I really like Tool, but I just hate people who keep telling me that DT rips off Tool.
I dislike Tool fanboys in general [editline]9th June 2011[/editline] Infact I dislike fanboys in general v:v:v
