id play a game like that
[editline]24th September 2012[/editline]
only if you had to deal with the frustrations of falling down and spazzing out a bunch
every time you get hit by an enemy you spend 10 minutes spazzing around on the floor whining
every time you get hit by an enemy you spend 10 minutes spazzing around on the floor whining
every time you hit an enemy an enormous textbox pops up to say "i'm sorry"
every time you beat a robot master
"you tried"
every time you die
"you tried"
FTFY
no see
mituna says the "you tried" star condescendingly
it wouldn't make any sense if he said it to himself after dying
I don't think Cronus was actually funny (in terms of dialog or personality), but he had an air about him that was hysterical. I would consider Latula or Dave actually funny. For Cronus... it's like, his whole personality was just so revolting and improbable, that I found it hilarious.
However, when he shit talked Mituna, he lost big points for me. Up until that point, he was sort of a lovable loser. Add on the fact that he's a dick deep down, and you get a character you can't honestly like. I will, however, love to hate him. If that's a thing I guess.
the way you describe Cronus' hilarity factor is basically how I view Equius. he's not trying to be funny, but the weird shit he says and does is hysterical.
but I don't feel the same way about Cronus. to me cronus is just a character I look at and just go "eugh" and when he starts being a dick to mituna it gets REALLY uncomfortable.
So... Terezi is moping because she wants Karkat right? I mean, it seems pretty clear to me but I've talked to a couple people who have thought otherwise and now I'm not so sure.
she said she was moping because her dancestor was so much cooler than her
but she did seem to get a little upset when meenah said she was going on a date with him later

Maybe I'm just reading into it but it sounds to me like she's just using that as an excuse to mope...
So, hosting a SBURB RPG based off of the Fallout PNP system, just lost a player, anyone want to jump in?

Dwarfy you're my favorite suddenly.
Could you post the rulebook and such? I need it for reasons.
I'll have you know that I am a top-rate roleplayer, I am level 54

Here is my character sheet his name is Dark Darkness Darker
Character sheet generator, and the Fallout rule sheet here, I'll explain the custom gameplay elements to our new player, but it's pretty simple actually.

Does it matter if I've never actually participated in one of these before? If it doesn't, I'd love to come.
But you'd probably have to teach me everything.

I'd prefer people with experience, so if we don't get anyone that's played before (sorry but it'd take a while to teach and run the game at the same time), you've got first grabs then.

Yeah I've never played with these rules but I am very open to doing this. It sounds like a lot of fun.
hey can you show me the custom gameplay elements
hey can you show me the custom gameplay elements
It's simple, Grist is picked up as an item (different types depending on the planet), and a logical amount is used in alchemy (combine two items, I give you a combination, and a cost.). Oh, and our current players are Friggle, the half Asian, half Irish midget who is convinced he's a leprechaun, Ryan, albino idiot who loves rock music and who is attempting to speedrun SBURB (played by me, to test some gameplay balance here and there.), Liz, Cora, and Mags, who haven't reached the medium yet (although Cora may or may not play, so that may be a second slot.), Seth has left us however.
How tryhard is this session?
Like is everyone min maxing their stats and powergaming the shit out of everything become the greatest SBURBers ever? Your comment on how your character is basically doing this in character kind of encroaches on this, but the fact that you'll apparently be doing it for game balance is reassuring. I just don't want to sign up for something where it will be a hassle to keep up with people playing to win real hard.

This is best Cronus. I know it doesn't make any sense, but it's the best Cronus.
How tryhard will this session be
Well, so far, we've prototyped a box of lucky charms, David Lee Roth's head from a poster, and Portal 2, we have midget-Roth-bot sprites, our leprechaun leader uses card kind (instead of dice rolls, he plays blackjack, 21 is a crit hit, a bust is a miss, too high is a crit fail), I use axe kind (guitars, although I don't play much, but that doesn't mean he's a placeholder, and it's to help out our new players whenever they fuck up too badly :v:.). Just be creative, have fun, don't go super srs RP, hell, making me laugh is the best way to get little bonuses here or there, do something like Dildobazookakind, and you'll get a kickass cock-rocket.
Okay cool. I edited my original post some, but you replied in the same time.
How flexible are your session times? When do you usually do them?

Well, we had the last game on a Friday, but Seth has delayed the game two weeks now, and will not make it anymore, but with new players, we can and will work to meet schedules, although North American and South American timezones are preferable for the most gameplay.
Alright, that sounds good.
Is there anything else I should know before I whip up a dude? All the basics are self-explanatory, but what should be done about Homestuck-y stuff like sylladex, strife specibus, and whatnot? The strife specibus can be sort of input in the weapons category on the sheet, but a lot of the other stuff doesn't seem very friendly with the Fallout sheet.
