Jacks been around for how many years now? He's killed John how many times? Him killing John would literally be pointless and just "oh John died to Jack AGAIN." Whereas if he wins, it shows how far he's come in the two years he's been stuck on that boat and would be a good show of growth if he actually achieved something for once.
I guess I'm just trying to rationalize myself because I'm sure John will lose, again, or Jack will live, again.

No, I don't think he should WIN, Jack is far too important of an antagonist to just up and die right here right now, but he sure as hell shouldn't lose. I just wanna see Jack losing some edge, have him get smacked around a bit by John then scared away by PM.
