i like those pieces and i still listen to them every once in a while, i just didn't think they were as good as his old stuff. for a while it seemed like toby was caught in this weird uncanny valley in terms of production value, where it was good enough to not be appealing because of its lack of production, but not good enough to be appealing because of its professionalism.
All of those panels could have been done with still images and been just as effective. In fact, if anything should have been a flash, it should have been the fight sequence that just happened.

If he wanted you to slow down, he could've added more panels or used gifs or even used just one flash panel, all of which would be better because you wouldn't be forced into an awkward loading time between panels.

I assumed by flow you meant pacing, and slowing the reader's pace is the only reason I can think of to change manageable panels into redundant flashes. It could be that it's supposed to be a callback, except that instead of actually being a callback it's not really a callback.
He could be having technical difficulties or something, and I wouldn't blame him for making one misstep out millions of good choices, but I don't like the way this was done.
