Unrelated to current going-ons, just something on my mind.
So, a stable time loop works like: I'm crossing the street, when me from the future pushes current me out of the way of a runaway car. He gives me a thumbs up and disappears into the future. Some time later, current me goes into the past, pushes past me out of the way of a runaway car, gives him a thumbs up, and disappears into the future.
I'm assuming Terezi's plan for Dave to ascend to god tiers was for him to kill himself on his quest bed, then some time later, go back in time, lie down on the quest bed and be killed by himself. Did that version of him become "doomed" because he didn't, or was it doomed from the start? Or, how did the first dead Dave (in his apartment, killed by the Dignitary) happen? If they're Daves from alternate, doomed timelines, shouldn't there be an infinite number of Daves coming back in time from the infinite number of doomed timelines?
So, instead of being just a murderous douchebag LE is killing off dream bubbles to kill Caliope's ghost.

Dave doesn't bring in doomed Daves often because he doesn't like seeing his own corpse. he operates very carefully to keep the timeline stable. it's all one Dave. youve got the right idea.

I suppose what I'm asking is how does he "bring in doomed Daves"? I remember reading a theory someone linked on here about how time travel happens just because Dave wants it to: do Dead Daves happen the same way?
So when Dave was commanded to "go back in time to stop the thief" when DD stole his journals, a Dave from an alternate timeline appeared, tried to stop DD, and died. Present Dave saw this and decided not to become this Dave, hence dooming him in the first place.
All this time bullshit is really confusing.

Not... Really. Alternate timeline Daves are automatically doomed because they're of an alternate timeline, so it's not Alpha!Dave's choices that doom them but rather the fact that alternate timeline Daves choose differently than Paradox Space wants them to.

There's intentional doomed loops, and then there's fucking up. Aradia was already a ghost and a robot and a death affeciando besides, so making the choice to 'change' events and kill herself was easy.
Because that's what you do when you intentionally break a loop, you're committing suicide. You've got paralell tracks of intent going on. Dave didn't have to live through John's death, and Jade's death, and Calsprite. Davesprite did, so he was prepared to doom himself to prevent all that.
Dave hasn't had to face many of those situations, and the closest he came was with Bro's death I think. Whereas on top of her disregard for life each Aradia was dealing with terminal fuckups.
