There was stuff going on throughout the boss battle, and although the boss battle took up a lot of the comic, I feel that if it had been done similarly to homestuck it would've taken half the time (mostly because of the lack of flashes in PS), and more could've been done.
well yeah hussie has already said that if HS didn't have flashes it would of been finshed like a year ago
but thats part of the appeal of HS, it's more than a webcomic (in a non-pretentious way). it's more of a bigass media project thing
you strike me as one of those people who only want jokes and don't really care for plot and character development. which is fine to each his own, but if HS was PS 2.0 i probably wouldn't of read it
the thing about Hussie is he can do whatever he wants and make a weird unstructured non linear weirdly paced comic

I [I]enjoyed[/I] the plot, and I do enjoy characters to an extent, however I believe that the trolls could've remained anonymous beings, only existing in their type, and it would've saved a whole bunch of shit from happening (troll romance, fanbase, etc.)
yeah i've more or less tuned out of the plot
i think hussie excels at writing characters and character interaction, but when it comes to pacing and (arguably) story he's not so great

I've noticed now that the original plot is almost entirely abandoned though. Grist hasn't been used in forever, almost every character is graduated to a higher form, and he's really cornered himself there, because his combat has strayed so far from the [URL="http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002288"]old[/URL] fighting style that it becomes more of a movie than a web comic, and the final scene is going to be ridiculously short.
I really wish Hussie hadn't cornered himself into the whole seven acts thing, because all it means is that the last parts of Act Six are either going to be extremely long or extremely short.

if hussie kept doing those Strife flashes and stuck with the old gags and whatnot shit would have gotten old a long ass time ago

That was the whole point of the scratch. Their session had become unwinnable, so they moved on to a new one. Supposedly all that stuff will now be happening to Jane, Dirk, Roxy and Jake.
