Tumblr sucks with gifs because the picture uploads are only meant for stationary pictures, therefore the file size limit is very low, and this usually limits gifs to being at most 1 or 2 seconds long.
For some reason, the people who manage tumblr are stupid and dont realize 1 to 2 second long gifs are

They're faces, you could guess the emotions from them.
At least, that's what I've read about. As an HFA I have no idea how any intelligent being could ever derive complex things like EMOTION from faces, or patterns that look like faces.
