No I think she explains it pretty well
The ring has the power to give carapaces invisibility. It's probably just augmenting some Void power she has to make herself invisible, rather than the ring actually doing it
Or it might be some devious device planted by the Batterwitch or one of the Midnight Crew designed to give her a false sense of security and then used as a homing beacon for evil powers to find the alpha kids.
And it also makes the wearer paranoid a'la the One Ring from LOTR.
I think the ring is just a placebo effect for Roxy's natural Void powers.
Like ok she can already turn invisible by herself but she doesn't know it, someone gives her a ring and tells her that she can do those things, bam she can do it even though the ring is doing jack shit in reality.
Alternate explanation: Jade is a fucking lazy scrub that never bothered to try using the ring in her session and just assumed that it wouldn't work because she's retarded.
