Yeah, but almost every fantroll I've seen looks like it has arbitrarily designed horns that follow no theme.

Oh, that.
Well, you might want to consider the fact that the horns are animal-themed to suit their signs that just happen to be zodiac signs that generally are considered to equal certain animals.
If a fantroll has a sign that isn't a sign that is associated with something it clearly should base its horns on I don't think any theming is necessary.

how can people collectively have spent like 1,300,000 dollars on something they know nothing about beyond a vague concept
i like homestuck and i'm sure the game won't disappoint but we don't have screenshots, media, any knowledge of the team behind it, or any info on what the game will be other than a vague paragraph explaining that it'll be more of a spinoff than a direct adaptation
and if this is just the money the kickstarter is making [I]imagine how much the game'll make[/I]

I'm wondering why, for the one or two that didn't do it to support Homestuck but just to see their Fantroll in comic, even bothers, when it explicitly says that they're only going to appear on one panel and be dead, and when they must know Hussie well enough to know that they'll probably only take up about eight pixels of the panel itself.
