I think I can see why they'd do it. I mean, after all, they have a chance to, no matter how small or indirectly, immortalize themselves in the history of the story they love (not to mention adding 10 000 bucks to the vidya game's production).

Recently joined a facepunch d20 super hero game where i attempted to create bro/dirk. I now have a skateboard swordsman who can rap things into existence from the rap dimension, whom after bursting through the wall of a bank killed three bad guys in one attack. I think this is going to be fun...
