This update also confirmed a little thing regarding the Blood aspect - Karkat's door was locked by the quadrant keys; it's stated that this is a "Memory of a puzzle", so it must have been part of his session quest. So the blood aspect is definitely to do with relationships. Which puts an interesting contrast between the two main relationships focused around Karkat - Heart and Mind. (maybe I'm looking too much into this but it just seemed interesting to me)
