I am a nurses assistant at my school for a class period every now and then, and I usually just organize/"cleanse" medical records and yeah, if your grades are anything like your medical records you're in the system for a LONG time.
Try 7 to 10 years the schools are legally required to keep ALL records on you. After that it comes down to kids in the office like me or the staff who decide if they want to "cleanse" the records.
The school has shit from when you were in pre-k buddy. Not just grades too, they know about that little P.E note your mommy sent in. Schools keep detailed records. So yeah, they know you dropped out.

Depending on your school and how many credits you have, you don't need a full Grade 12 courseload. If you desperately want to do it, do both Grade 11 and Grade 12 courses in one year, or do some courses through online schooling.

Man, I want to explain to you how you can still make it in the world, even with a GED, but damn you really are dumb. I have a GED and I am going to college. Yeah I fucked up by dropping out, but you have to turn that around. I did really good on my GED ( lol too bad that means shit ) because I actually am intelligent. My parents wouldn't put me into the magnet school and school was intellectually boring me. It was still stupid because I could've focused and perhaps gotten a scholarship. Oh well, shit happens. Now I'm dealing with it. I plan on majoring in some comp. sci. of a sort. Hell, a lot of the computer industry doesn't even required a degree, just certifications. I have a vision disability, nothing major (I can still drive). But I'll probably be getting either SSI and/or welfare checks but guess what? I'm gonna work. I'm gonna work even though I have government cash coming in. I don't care what anyone says, the government expects me to mooch off them, then fuck them, I'm going to do what I want, and what I want is to have enough cash for a nice house and a nice car and be able to provide for my future wife and children.
