Getting my A2 results tomorrow. Probably going to get B/D/U. Dunno why people are shitting themselves over it.
You can get an A* in A levels now??? What's the mark for a fail?
A*'s have just been added to A level courses. U is a fail, then it's E D C B A A*
You guys are pussys, scared of a little bit paper.
I wanna go to uni!
Edit: On the course I want*
to get an A* you need 80% or higher on every module.
to get an A* you need 80% or higher on every module.
That honestly doesn't sound that hard.
I'm not familiar with the system though.

nah 80% or over on every module is a pretty rare occurence. I had heard the boundary was 90% though.
I thought it was 90% at GCSE too.
To get an A* at AS you need 90% or above on every module, with no retaking.
I'm just worried, one day, tomorrow, will define my life basically. Uni course? Job Prospects? Job? Salary? Etc etc
I need 240 UCAS points to do my course so the lowest result I can get and still get in is C D D E, hopefully I'll get C C D D, I say hopefully as I got all Es last year but they were just 2 or (At worst) 3 marks from Ds so lets hope the Fiver I left in my exam papers will make up the difference ;)
Pah! You rate me dumb only because I thought of it first!
And even if you did I goosed the invigilators as they went past.
If I fail again this year...
Fail.

well I got nothing but As and A*s at GCSE and I'm not even expecting more than 1 A tomorrow.
but then again I don't try for shit.

What? Seriously? No retaking?
Haha well fuck that, I'm gonna have to retake at least 2 of my Maths AS modules if I want even an A overall.
For all those worried about A-level results 'defining your life' - they really don't. Plenty of people go to university and do degree courses without ever having even touched O/A-levels.
My brother got his exam results on the 5th, but that's because we're in Scotland.
All Fucking A... I have to look forwarding to studying my ass off now, trying to live up to him.
Oh, next year is going to be FUN!
I'm not looking forward to my AS results, I revised for the first time in my life, and even then the exams seemed shit hard. The bad thing is in Maths we were still learning some of the content the last lesson before the exam.
Overall I'm expecting good Business and IT results, shit Maths and Citizenship. Will have to wait till 10ish tomorrow to find out.
Good luck to everyone else.

This, C2 was a joke.. or at least, my teacher was.

That's what they tell you to try and get you into university, but I'm afraid it's not as clear cut as that. Experience is far, far, far more important than grades, especially now as everyone and their mother is qualified.
Aye. Degree's aren't very important in the current climate.

depends what kinda job you're talking about

Aye, I played Operation alot as a child and now I am a world class surgeon!

Ah, must be for oxford/cambridge etc... they had too many entries.
Also, yes, a Degree is fairly damn important. Experience too, but just you try applying for a decent job without both...
I don't get my results determining if i can go to uni for another week, by that time the accomodation will already be full and i'll be fucked most likely.
What I mean is, I already have 40 more than the points I need to do the university course but I did shit at GCSE Maths and missed a C by a few marks so I had to resit.
I'm staying up tonight and checking UCAS, at 12.01pm it tells you whether your University has accepted you or not, so you know if you got the grades you needed.
This is such a common rumour that UCAS crashes around that time, but it's actually absolute bollocks. UCAS themselves state they don't update until mid-morning, and the average is usually 6-8AM. So if you pick your results up at 9 you should be able to check before you leave.
I don't even know when my college is opening. It's ran by such complete idiots that they never said. The website doesn't say, and as it's closed for the holidays you can't even ring up and check. I'm showing up at 9 and if it isn't open I'll look like a complete saddo.

Why didn't you sort out accommodation before hand? I've had mine sorted for months. I had to retake a GCSE too.
Accomodation is sorted in the way that all the forms are filled in and ready to be sent in a first class envelope.
But practically everyone has to wait until results day because once you pay the deposit, you're liable for three grand, even if you're not able to go.
Im pretty sure ive failed everything
but dont they let you take resits

Do you mean "everyone" as in your university because I get my deposit back if I don't make it. All of my friends are in the same boat.
They can't demand £3k from you though, there's laws against that, but they don't have to give you your deposit back, but they should, otherwise it's run by crooks and will get hella negative PR.

If you are in AS:
Sure.
If you are in A2:
So long as the syllabus of the course you did hasn't expired you can

But don't you have to get above a certain grade boundary in order to take a resit?

Scope, i sent my accommodation form off end of july and i still haven't recieved the request for the deposit and to sign the contract. You're meant to send it off to your firm as soon as you can :/
I'm expecting my A level results tomorrow as well so good luck guys!

I never did, i got a 4/100 on one module.
Worst. Teacher. Ever.
Honestly :( I re-took it and scored 84/100 :dubby:
