Fair enough
and yes auto tuning is shit
There is no way to justify using it, and I know that I See Stars abuse the hell out of it
And if you can't handle clean vocals, I feel bad for you, I love cleans
I'd rather listen to clean vocals than harsh vocals. But I'd rather listen to singers who don't sound like autotuned whiny castrati
Why isn't anyone mentioning Underoath? Don't care much for their first album, but I absolutely love all of their other stuff.
The new album is amazing as well, much darker and groovier as a result of Aaron's departure (who had differing musical tastes from the rest of the band).
Oh, and they don't have the typical 'christcore' image
The new album is fucking amazing, I like how Spencer has improved on his clean vocals.
I plan on seeing them next weekend with Close your eyes, A day to remember, and The word alive.
Both Amazing songs off the new Album

Driftwood
Vocals ruined it
lol man, TDWP are not a good example to use if you're trying to say something is good
True. But the cleans are nice, "Louder Than Thunder" was a good song. I honestly don't see why people get so angry over auto tune, if it sounds nice I'm fine with it.

Underoath is awesome. In my opinion "Writing on the Walls" was one of their best songs.

I pick favorite songs by album because its to hard for me to pick out of multiple albums. Though Writing on the walls is a really good song by Underoath.

You know that's a pretty good way to look at it, I just don't feel the same way
Each to their own I guess

Well said
I like harsh vocals too, and I like clean vocals
I like ones that aren't auto tuned, and usually they aren't

Eyes Set To Kill is amazing. <3

I can't stand the female vocalist's voice. I think it's so annoying.
Autotuning is okay if it's used for voice effect. The clean vocalist in The Devil Wears Prada uses autotune for voice effects.
lol that's exactly how it should not be used. you might as well just have your vocals be a midi keyboard

1. not post hardcore at all. they are literally just "hard rock" with a pop punk "edge"
2. they are the most "christian" band I know other than TDWP
I've heard a lot of people say that they were metalcore
lolwat I always thought Underoath were deathcore :v: mann I was wrong

They are good tho
[editline]6th November 2010[/editline]
Oh god
just finished listening to Escape the Fate's new album
It's shit. Every song I've heard before, be it from another album from EtF or from another band. It's basically Linkin Park meets BMTH but worse than both :|
I've heard a lot of people say that they were metalcore
have you listened to them?
Autotune is bad but vocal effects are not. Vocal effects such as the vocoder etc are great for effects, but autotune is just for people who can't sing. Nothing really wrong with using it to touch up like one note because the singer didn't quite end a line right or something, like was too deep/high or whatever but you should never be able to notice it. If you can notice it then the singer sucks.
Wat - deja vu. If Auto-Tune makes vocals sound blatantly synthesized, the singer sucks? Troll conclusion. Auto-Tune is not for people who can't sing. Tools and instruments can't make effortless people sound better. Auto-Tune cannot turn shit into gold. Ironically, it can turn gold into shit hahaha. Auto-Tune can only make improvements to a performance that is already good. (I know it doesn't always achieve that, and 'better' is subjective.) You haven't given a good reason to demonize Auto-Tune man.
On the other hand, super synthy Auto-Tune just doesn't belong in Post-Hardcore. I like and listen to Post-Hardcore 'cause I feel it has a nice balance, and dynamics, between aggressiveness and sensitivity (screams and cleans). Auto-Tune ruins this by making the vocals unhuman. Thus masking any sincerity, and leaves me unconvinced by the aggressiveness and other expressions in the song. If I'm unconvinced, I can't enjoy it or take it seriously. Adding Auto-Tune is really cheesy 'cause for one, it's synonymous with ordinary commercialized music, and two, subtracts from the essence of Post-Hardcore – the humanlike switching between aggressive and sensitive sentiments. Post-Hardcore + Trance + Auto-Tune should be called Post-Core, Pop-Cor'n, or some shit like that.
have you listened to them?
Nope
just listen to one song you'd concur.
Just listened to that song that the person posted
I'm going to have to agree

I can't stand Escape the fate or BMTH. Also, underoath is more Metalcore with their new album. But they never been Deathcore.

Oh, I'm sorry. Liking your avatar!
I just started listening to Of mice & men and We came as Romans, i have to say i like both of these bands now.
I have To Plant A Seed by We Came As Romans, but I haven't got around to listening to it yet

That's the album of theirs that i have been listening, I like it. You should give Underoath New album Disambiguation a listen to, i say you would enjoy it.
I am liking the new ADTR album.
I am liking the new ADTR album.
I heard like two songs and i was Disappointed But i am still willing to give the album a listen to.
Just actually got around to listening to it, i only liked 3 songs off the whole album. I am completely disappointed with this album.
Its a little heavier than homesick. I still think the breakdowns are amazing, and of course adtr will do their thing of releasing acoustic versions in a few months.
If you wanted heavy in the first place you wouldn't listen to post hardcore
It just doesn't fit the music imo

yeah, imagine mixing super poppy post hardcore with brutal death metal or grindcore, that would be so weird
that'd be terrible
I don't even want to imagine it
