holy SHIT that was overedited and the music was hot garbage. and to put an 'In loving memory' on it? Talk about fucking disrespectful.
Looks like Aaron Jonathan Wallace is the lucky one.
This is the evolution of let the bodies hit the floor montages, my god
Immense talent in art.
Little to no talent in storytelling.
This could have been great if she had focused a bit more.
This is how you do a real montage video.
my goodness this is almost montage parody tier
I dont think this was really meant to be cut apart and taken as art.
Pretty sure it's just taking frag videos to the nth degree.
don't overthink it, just bask in the glorious over-editing and 2 minute long intro sequence.
The dust 2 edit at 2:00 seems pretty cool
I don't care about what this is, that editing is impressive as fuck.
Some of the maps here are edits of the actual map with different lighting/textures/othershit, right? Right?
I'm not actually sure what I just watched.
holy SHIT that was overedited and the music was hot garbage. and to put an 'In loving memory' on it? Talk about fucking disrespectful.
please feign outrage over dumber shit on the internet please
It looks well made but I couldn't watch it past two minutes.
It offends my eyes.
Sure it shows off her potential but the over-editing and the few small things actually go as far as undermining the talent
i thought this was pretty fuckin' sweet, loosen up guys its supposed to be fun
Taken as something an amateur made, it's an impressive portfolio (besides the music mixing). However all I can really say is "what the fuck" because really what is it trying to be. If the effects were of lower quality I don't think it'd really have any redeeming qualities. It's like the new power rangers or something.
There's a point where the amount of effort surpasses the content subject, and becomes a mix of media garbage and wasted time. This is subjectively bad
While the video is good in an artistic sense when it comes to being a frag video it's like George Lucas decided to make his very own frag video (with the exclusion of Jar Jar Binx).
The inclusion of Finch in the soundtrack caught me off guard. Now I'm gonna spend all day jamming to old school emo.
But
Where the fuck did all that water come from

When frag movies go too far. I'm not even sure this counts as being a CS:GO frag movie anymore.
Okay fine just fuck it, I hereby name you the Master Fragger of the Universe. Are you happy now?
the maps look really fucking well done, but the rest is way too much. honestly a minute or two of just the clips with those redone maps/look of csgo would be cool as shit.
i mean it looks amazing and its clear that effort went in
but it's SO over the top for some pretty mediocre frags from pros
the scene at 2:30 was sick as fuck
the scene at 2:30 was sick as fuck
I can't stop watching it. That has to be one of the most well thought out transitions of all time, and how they synced up the music to everything is fucking amazing.
i want to go back
holy shit dust 2 looked insane
It looked amazing
Man look at the trailer/teaser for this and look at this video it's quite shit.
Not sure what happened to the music choices but I guess she just wanted this shit out of the door by that point.

You need to calm the fuck down
The real question is how full of yourself do you have to be to even think about making something like this.
Actually, how full of yourself do you have to be to get somebody else to make this for you
Have you ever stopped to think that maybe they had fun making this?
I don't know about you, but videos like this look insanely fun to put together. It's crazy, overproduced, and over the top - and those, in my experience, are the most enjoyable things to make.
I've only dabbled in it a touch, but whenever I find myself making a "for shits and giggles" wubstep edit of a video, I always find myself having an insane amount of fun syncing the distortions, glitches, and other editing to the music. I giggle every time I play it back in my video editor, and when it's finally done and published, I just sit back and watch it a few times and just laugh at how crazy over-the-top it is.
I'm not saying that's the case here - I don't know the people involved - but I am saying it is a possibility.
And if it is indeed the case, I don't think you have to be "full of yourself" to want to have fun. In fact, I'd argue that it's you whose being full of themselves, for thinking these people are "full of themselves" to want to make something like this.
Is this a metaphorical representation of the creative industry? Full of creative talents but shit vision and direction.
Did you miss the part where the person playing it didn't make the effects and such?
Did you miss the part where it's more than one person working on the video?
So far as I know, there isn't any (or very little) actual gameplay footage. All (or most) of it was remade in 3D engines.
From what I can gather, the person who did the editing did the bulk of the work. And that is what I am talking about - the editing, and how fun it looks like it'd be.
I'm not sure if you're getting butthurt over the fact "It's not a CSGO video" or something, but if it is, I think you're missing the point. If anything, CSGO was just an excuse, a flimsy frame for the people involved to build this video around. It was effectively a Macguffin, used only to drive cohesion.
Even if you're right and they're just using CS:GO as an excuse to make a video like this, it doesn't change the fact that it looks like one of those really edgy frag videos from years ago, just brought to modern day
Congratulations. That wasn't my point at all.
I was saying that it is possible they made this because it was fun, and that there is no trace of "being full of yourself" for wanting to have fun. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't give a damn about the "edginess".
Being full of yourself implies that you think you are better than others and that your work is objectively better than others. I see none of that here. All I see is people who decided to make a silly and over-the-top video.
I don't know, maybe I'm just seeing things from an outsider's perspective. I don't play Counter-Strike, and I don't pay attention to frag videos. This is the first "frag video" I've ever seen, and from what I can gather, it's not even really a "frag video" because of how overproduced it is. And I am okay with that.
So you're telling me people who make these sort of frag videos are just doing it for the fun and not waving their dicks around when they got lucky sick aces with an AWP while playing with one hand.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are plenty people who're a tad more humble than that but when you have almost six minutes of some guy doing what he does in the video it seems a little funny to me, even if the frags have nothing to do with it like you said
When it comes to videos that are ridiculously over-the-top and over-produced like this one?
Yes. That is exactly what I am saying.
If this was just a boring smash-up of gameplay footage of trick kills, then I would say it's just flamboyantly showing off their skills.
But if you see this, and you think it's just a smash-up of gameplay footage of trick kills, then you are sadly mistaken. Especially since, and I believe this has been pointed out before, a good portion of the kills in this video aren't even terribly impressive.
It is my opinion that, in the case of this video, the effects, editing, and production are by and far the top priority of the video. The frags are just there, as I said, to give the video some sort of substance. I would think the portal transition at 2:30 would give that away, if nothing else.
I haven't played CSGO, but I am pretty certain that isn't in the game. Just like swirling vortexes of water, or buildings collapsing on what looked like a heavily edited dust2 map.
