this inspired me to go on a diet does that mean im an idiot and deserve to die
Only if you go on the potato-only diet. I actually started dieting recently and then this video came out, so it gave me a lot of positive reinforcement, though I don't plan on only eating a potato a day.
I will never understand how or why people drink soda every day
My legs and neck started getting a bit of chub after having one can a day for a year. I noticed this and went off soft drink completely and within two weeks I was back to my regular borderline anorexic self. The sugar content in those cans is ridiculous
now all I need is an interview like this that drastically simplifies GAINING weight i eat like a fuckin' pig and I'm still rocking that solid 145lbs life right now, real shame

If you struggle with soda you likely have a caffeine addiction. Either break it or drink black coffee as that's calorie free
Diet soda helped me. I don't think I'll ever be able (or want to) stop drinking Coke, but at least I can drink calorie-free versions and not have to factor that into my daily intake.
I will never understand how or why people drink soda every day
Parents only stocking it for years probably [editline]1st October 2016[/editline] Really gotta remember to feed my kids right when I have them [editline]1st October 2016[/editline] It sucks only being fed garbage and getting it in your system like that
I feel terrible if I have a soft drink when I'm not on holiday or eating out, I don't think I could bring myself to have one every day.
I will never understand how or why people drink soda every day
I do it in replacement of coffee, as it's easier to store in a car. I'm 6'2 and 140 pounds, but I'll probably have to soon change my diet, since I'll be approaching mid-twenties in a few years.
The only reason I knew he became skinny was from his cameo on Eric Andre Show.
I will never understand how or why people drink soda every day
Watch the video where he says that tastes in food and drink are based purely on habit

If storage is a problem, get a thermos?
But soda has not only less caffeine but also tons more sugar than a cup of coffee. If storage is a problem, get a thermos?
Sugar keeps me awake an alert enough on the road to work, I guess. I also dislike the way coffee tastes.
In America ultra cheap soda is also never far away. Shits easier and cheaper to get than water sometimes.
I lost a tiny bit of weight cutting out soda. Only 78 down to 71-2kg but all the same I can't imagine having soft drinks every day. Even when I'm having mixers on a night out I have vodka sodas rather than rum and coke or anything like that.
I attribute at least 40 lbs of weight loss solely to not drinking pop(soda) daily anymore. I cut it out of my diet completely and that was the first step in my diet. No more pop. 6 months later I was a lot lighter. 6 months later from then when I'd started to drink the odd pop here or there I'm still losing weight from having cut out sources of sugar. Sugar is not good for you and if you're using that to stay awake, that's not sustainable nor good for you. Coffee isn't super healthy as far as I know but black coffee isn't going to give you any serious issues and like all forms of eating it's about habbit. Get in the habbit of drinking it, and you'll enjoy drinking it.

Regarding the whole 'calories in, calories out' thing, while it does appeal to our intuition and I can imagine it's somewhat useful, we aren't simple machines. Two clones can eat the same food at different times and have vastly different outcomes.

They're not going to react in a way that isn't indicative of a human being's body because they're limited to being human. There's very, very few people "calories in, calories out" won't work for. Thyroid issues are much rarer than you might think. And two clones of the same person would react the same if they were perfect clones.

Calories in and calories out is just the science of how we work, and I really don't like how people go out of their way to hammer the idea in your head that weight loss is some in-achievable goal unless you put your entire day into becoming an Olympian super-athlete. Consume less than you burn. For 90% of people, this is how it works. To act like it's not has set up a dangerous echo chamber of dis-encouragement. It's depressing. Like for fuck's sake, worrying about nutrition isn't even necessary. It's absolutely encouraged and you should ALWAYS think about a healthy intake, but for weight loss, you ultimately don't have to. You can eat the same garbage you always do and lose weight so as long as you just eat less of it.
Anyone here can suggest how to go about this diet. Links? I grew up not liking many veggies and I'd love to reset my tastebuds.

If you're going to do this, get a protein powder, whole milk, and bags of sugar, and mix them together. You'll get the same thing, only cheaper. [editline]2nd October 2016[/editline]
Anyone here can suggest how to go about this diet. Links? It's better to make fruit smoothies with whey and whole milk, and maybe some added sugar for extra calories, if needed. Really though, you don't want to rely on shakes for the majority of your calories, or you'll soon get sick of them. Been there, done that..
