First Amendment bitch:
Did you read my post? You have the right to peaceably assemble, but you require a permit for large scale assemblies within cities or towns, and this assembly was not peaceful- bomb threats, attacks on police, etc. [editline]01:44AM[/editline]
Orly? Intresting...
They aren't fucking stopping your goddamn 1st ammendment, they're stopping economic and physical harm to citizens of Pittsburgh.
Not a riot. :downs:
No, it wasn't, but random, unprovoked and otherwise anti-establishment aimed acts of violence endangering the lives of citizens, blocking traffic, harming business and creating property damage is still illegal, especially when done by several groups of assemblers who do not have a permit to assemble in city limits.

The Constitution doesn't put a limit on how big an assembly can be. I see your point that mobs damaging things is wrong. But what is the problem with a bunch of people assembling? As long as they don't block the roads I guess.
Not a riot. :downs:
Judging by your avatar your an anarchist, so I wouldn't expect you to understand how this whole deal works.

It's not to limit our rights, it's a matter of safety. Police need to have the area marked for them to prevent intrusion by opposing groups or expansion of a group, to make sure nothing unruly is happening, and to make sure that no damage is caused to public or private property and normal routines aren't disrupted. Most times unless police are there, things like this will happen, accidentally or otherwise.
destroying order is a great way to protest

This is a Democratic Republic not a Fascist Oligarchy.
damn fucking badass cops stupid flower loving students can't comapre with a middle aged man holding down an awesome job
Oh and the Anarchist avatar represents my disgust with our current system of governing. This is a representative democracy you dolt, in no way a fascist oligarchy.
damn fucking badass cops stupid flower loving students can't comapre with a middle aged man holding down an awesome job
Being a police officer is not an awesome job. It sucks to be a cop, you get the bare minimum and have to get involved in things that could get you injured/killed. EDIT: Kind of sad you have to keep attacking me because I don't give up easily.

Oh god .. people who think the police is wrong for dispersing the large crowds are ignorant. I learned this shit in middle school that you cannot set up large assemblies without a permit. It's common sense.
Oh those silly teenagers.

Like I said in my last post, the Constitution puts no limit on how large an assembly can be. If the group does start doing something unruly, then the police can step in. The Constitution doesn't say "You have the right to assemble only when we say so" [editline]09:35PM[/editline]
Oh god .. people who think the police is wrong for dispersing the large crowds are ignorant.
The Constitution doesn't say "You have the right to assemble only when we say so"
No one said they could not have a permit. If they had a permit this whole ordeal would never happen. Plus a lot of the crowd were getting rowdy.

The Constitution doesn't say "You have the right to assemble only when we say so"
The constitution does not say that murder is unlawful. The constitution is only the ground rules. You are given the freedom to say what you want, but we have laws that state you cannot speak slander or scream fire in a crowded room. Things like Miranda laws are also not in the constitution... I don't live off the constitution, I live off the laws expanded upon and based off the rights defined in it.
So what you are saying is I could blockade all the major roads of a city with people and since its an assembly of people it's legal?

It's much bigger than you think. If the students were just standing there like "oh didiledo lala G20 sux" then yeah ok but most of them are probably like "Fuck the popo hellz yeh! guise" It's a large, immature crowd that is there to cause trouble.
I love the this thread I started

Just curious, could someone explain what they were protesting?
Just curious, could someone explain what they were protesting?
The G20, the group of economic leaders from the top 20 of the world's most industrialized and economic nations met in Pittsburgh. The Anarchists came to stick it to the man. The Communists to oppose capitalism. The students to be all rebellious and shit. More Anarchists to start shit with the police and wave around their rights given to them by a government that they don't believe in. Average folk to oppose a bunch of rich fucks running our economy how we don't want them to. Aka- no specific reason.
Aka- no specific reason.
I love you...
I like how there are just two idiots that just stand still in front of the police. I'm thinking "what the fuck are you doing?"
lol at the cop at the end that just stares. The helicopter bullhorn as awesome too.
They do have the right to assembly, too bad it's on public grounds without a permit in a large unruly crowd.
Why is it so hard to get out of the way.
Lol, the use of "less-lethal" munition Don't you use that on armed rioters? [editline]09:52AM[/editline] wow 3:43 and 4:26 Where do they hire such fine officers?
Those riot videos always make you sympathize with the rioters. I know the assemblies are unlawful and the police have reasons to break up the demonstrations but they're wearing black armor and their faces are concealed and they have big black vans and the protesters are coughing from the tear gas and holding their ears and look miserable :(
