[thumbs] ?
I would say they are extremely lucky they didn't harm anyone during the misfire.
well they did fire it in a bomb range, if it was out in public they'd probably get jailed but it will most likely end with discovery paying damages
It sounds fun to live there. You here an explosion and just go "I wonder what they are up to this time".

Also imagine being in your room and then all of a sudden see a cannon go through your walls.
You figure they will just pay the damages and be more careful next time they do anything like that. Like what was said above, they were on a bomb range.
Yeah, this could have killed someone. Can't they be sued?
[editline]7th December 2011[/editline]
I don't think so. They are very concerned with safety and if you just saw something you launched go in to a house that was potenitally occupied... you'd probably be a bit worried.
Yeah, I'd be worried of being charged. I doubt they could be sued for too much, given the amount of practice and all the safety measures they put in place. This was more of a once in a lifetime fluke, that is unless they've went slack on safety.
Haha so great to see my town made national news. Nothing ever happens here.

Except that the myth busters are about the blow something up a few miles away from you at any moment.
no one was hurt, so i'm sure they can easily cover the cost of damages and get on with life
I wonder if the police are going to keep the cannon ball or release it to the Mythbusters/People that got hit by it.
Can you imagine its value.
Who builds a neighborhood near a bomb range?
You have to remember that it was 700 yards away.
Hmm, will they get any punishment?
It was an accident.
It's likely they'll just pay for the damage caused and move on with the show.
I hope they actually shot it on the show. Most likely they'll skip the entire thing though.
You have to remember that it was 700 yards away.
That's less than half a mile.
These houses are within walking distance of a bomb range.
Everyone talking about houses being near the bomb range have to remember that there was a giant hill between the houses and the actual bomb range. It's a perfectly safe bomb range for regular explosives. You have to remember, cannons are artillery, they're made to shoot far. It just so happened in the freak accident that the cannon misfired and the cannonball went over the hill. If they were to go down to the salt flats every single time they wanted to shoot something at high velocity they'd never get anything done because it's a day trip in each direction.
