Clubs are awesome yes, but get real. Raves just refer to private, non-commercial dances or events that don't count as a business. Raves can be to house, to hardcore, to euphoric trance, to techno. They can be to whatever type of dance music you want, whatever the DJ puts on. Clubs, on the other hand, usually have more politics involved, thus more commercial shit gets played. You probably never got invited to a decent rave. Also, nerdy? Wow. Unless the crowd is just totally choked and no one is really dancing, there's nothing to be nerdy about.
