Upon rewatching all the trailers again like a relapsing crack addict, I'm digging Kojima's new one-take style more and more. It's so good for that 'immersive' factor, to make it feel less movie-like.
I appreciate it because i fucking hate choppy scenes with constant cutting between angles.
Especially in fights.

Flashbacks to fucking Taken-series. Everyone else in my family loved the movies, but I had to look away after the 105th cut in a 30 second fight-scene.
I also love the one-take style.

From 0:30 onwards if it doesn't start there.

I think it actually makes it more movie-like in a way. Kojima said he was inspired by Alfonso Cuarón's movies like Children of Men or Gravity which feature some of the best long takes in movie history.

Yeah, I meant less movie-like in the sense that there are no cuts to remind you that "hey, this is a pre-arranged movie and we had 5 cameras on this scene". You get drawn into it far more. It feels more like you're watching a sequence of real time events.
I've been in love with long takes ever since watching Children of Men for the first time, and I adored it in Birdman. I bet Kojima saw Children of Men too, probably around the time he was brainstorming for Ground Zeroes.

[sp]there is oil because each bomb is creating a new universe, a new big bang. you travel back to the beginning of life on earth (hence the little creatures) and somehow you return to the present time (and, because it's been hundreds of millions of years inbetween, simple organisms are turned into oil)[/sp]
am i getting this right?

[sp]In the interview the liquid is referred to as Timefall and seems to cause life to appear and decay rapidly
Though when it touches human flesh it seems to just cause it to decay rapidly (hence the guy aging really fast)[/sp]
Before the interview I too thought it was oil and was representing death in that way, but it sounds like it serves an actual plot point
the reasonwhy water is featured in suc a prominent way is probably because water is the univeral catalyst. they used water in Constantine as well to traverse between different planes, same goes with Soul Reaver, and i'm willing to be Kingdom Hearts as well.

Given these trailers are built upon symbolisms to convey information, I wouldn't be surprised that the sequence where sam is deep underwater part of this trascendence, and the fact that sea life is completely extict around him, the whole process of moving through life and death has been shut down, leaving everyone unable to truly die, only to be harvested by these entities.
Trying to wrap my head around why you would need a corpse disposal team in the first place. What happens to a corpse if it's not disposed of correctly? Why is that something to avoid?
After the bit of information regarding how death works in the game this seems so obvious. They're not a corpse disposal unit, they're a corpse recovery unit. Because you can't bring people back from the dead if you don't have their body.
Also why they seem fine with killing themselves. No need to fear death if someone can just bring you back once they get your body.
Also Sam's special power is that he can come back whenever he wants, unlike normal people who have to be brought back by others who are still alive.

Maybe Sam has the power to bring anyone back to their bodies. He's the "porter" of 'souls' back to their body, and that's why he's on the corpse team.
