Funky Cletus The Reedus Fetus.
bro every single turd heaved out by this awful industry was made to the tune of this mantra and i'm so ready for videogames that stop sweating their crafting systems and achievements and choose make something genuinely original and unfamiliar and possibly deeply flawed but for all the right reasons

As far as I recall there were very few gameplay trailers for MGSV and the gameplay for that was amazing

From what i remember, none of the main trailers had gameplay, the gameplay was shown off in select demonstrations at trade shows.

This trailer had a pretty lengthy gameplay segment in the middle of it.

It really sort of freaks me out that that guy was so determined to commit suicide before being sucked into the air.
What was he avoiding?

Something worse than dying by stabbing yourself in the heart and lung multiple times.

They also shot the other guy so I'm guessing they get used somehow? Probably in a horrifying way since he'd rather die than go through it.
I love how after the trailer Reedus went on-stage with Kojima was like, "Well at least you gave me clothes this time."

This is the first time I've felt genuine fear from a game. The thought of some horrible monster devouring you, resorting to killing yourself with whatever you can to avoid that fate, that's fucking terrifying. The thought that death is preferable to whatever it is that creature can do to you gives me chills.

I think he did get used. If you notice he's still alive at the very end and gets sucked into the head.

yea the rest of the trailer had me either scratching my head, laughing, or rolling my eyes, but that sequence at least was really great. looking forward to learning more about that.

Right, suicide scenes in movies/shows always make me cringe and this was no different, especially when someone is so determined to do I just can't help but imagine what is so terrible that they would do it. He does it in like the most painful way as well, whatever was happening to him must have been much worse than getting stabbed in the chest repeatedly :suicide:
EDIT: postal I can't decide if this trailer is scarier than your avatar though, I can't stop staring into it's eyes.
Can anyone take a guess as to who the other two actors were? Anyone notable?
fucking alien demigods making norman reedus eat the fetus

What kind of insane 4th dimensional shit it happening throughout these videos
It almost seems like the babies are conscious of what's going on, I wonder what they are
I'm surprised nobody has pointed out how much these monster designs look straight out of GDT's playbook
i fucking love it
So...invisible demons that detect breathing, artificial mpreg, flying maggots, and a baby giving a thumbs up from Norman Reedus's stomach.
This is the best trailer ever.
its been like two years since the first trailer, right?
i like a good spooky surrealist lovecraftian sci-fi thing and all but i'd just really like to know so much as what kind of game it actually is
Something worse than dying by stabbing yourself in the heart and lung multiple times.
I visualize the guy being terribly bummed out about being unable to use the knife properly because he accidentally pulls out a halloween retractable blade prank knife instead and tries to stab himself repeatedly only to realize that

I'm pretty sure Kojima's said a few times it's an open world action game
Asked what kind of game Death Stranding is, Kojima said, "You can think of Death Stranding as an action game." The goal is for Death Stranding to be "very intuitive" so that players can jump in easily. At the same time, Death Stranding will offer a "certain new type of depth." Overall, Death Stranding aims to be "something that [players] might not have seen before," Kojima said.
In terms of its openendedness, Kojima said, "You have a lot of freedom of choice to do what you want to do and you can get in vehicles and so on." He added: "If you are a fighter, there's plenty of opportunity for that. If you're not that type of player, there are other ways to play this game."

the franticness of that dude stabbing himself, repeatedly, is pretty damn haunting.
So this trailer definitely cleared up some things about the original E3 reveal trailer.
But then got me even more confused about what the hell is going on.
This looks exciting.
The plot of the entire game will gradually reveal itself to be an ultra high symbolic abstraction of a guy walking to the grocery store to buy a Snickers.
This is the sequel to Super Meat Boy, where Dr. Fetus is on the loose once more and is out to conquer the world.

And a prequel at the same time.

Funky Fetus is removed via c-section?
Is this literally a metaphor, about how everybody is a kid at heart and how society is out to kill your inner baby?
well im gonna go in a wild guess:
Its probably the end of the universe, and some interdimensional ancient beings are behind all that.
Norman Reedus must be part of a corporation/team/army in the future or with some kind of time hablities.
The beings work in other planes of reality but they interact with ours and can get to us. Im guessing the fate one has once one of those beings incorporates you into them is worse than death, thats why the guy who got capture tried to stab himself to death. Im guessing eternal suffering or something like that, thats why the guy kills the other dude once those beings capture him.
After the guy trapped under the car started getting older by time im guessing either interacting with the beings or exposing yourself to the reality they were makes time do weird stuff and gets you killed in an instant.
With the baby stuff, and from what kojima hints, im guessing its a form of respawn. The guy gives Norman his "clone" so they can keep living and living even after dying. They carry one outside of them to ensure they wont die, or inside them if they are still developing. The fast time and warping stuff must get them grow faster so you can keep cloning yourself and not die so fast.
Im guessing, too, that other realities show you other connections and dynamics. That water part kinda hinted at that, maybe your souls are there and connect with everything. In this case, that spiritualism could be taken a little more grounded, and its just elder gods in control of other plains of you, hence all the animals connected to that giant.
My own is generally this but with some HL2 type meta... where that BRIDGE logo is a reference to a company akin to Black Mesa. They experiment with some ground-breaking technology that leads to alerting some ancient alien power, who then invades.
It's possible that they were messing with time travel and awakened aliens from a higher dimesion
