Is this literally a metaphor, about how everybody is a kid at heart and how society is out to kill your inner baby?
Perhaps the game will consist of an extended loop of smaller babies being removed through c section from bigger babies until that ukelele guy shows up. Maybe the game utilizes a "reverse metaphor" where the society symbolizes the baby instead. Maybe the entire game is going to have an ultra mindfuck direction where the metaphorical and the literal are in reverse.
I had a thought just now about the suicide and mercy killings: what if it's not about what happens to YOU when you are caught alive, but its about what happens to everyone else? The giant eldritch creature ignored the dead man and absorbed the dude who tried to stab himself, he didn't die in time. As a result that large explosion went off and some sort of funky time/portal/eldritch shit went on. Something that at the end of the trailer Reedus was afraid of. What if the organization is working to prevent this from happening, and accepts that if a human is caught alive by these things they must end their own lives to prevent events like that from occurring?
I wish I could be high on the drug that is Hideo Kojimas mind.
It almost seems like the babies are conscious of what's going on, I wonder what they are
I think it's only 1 baby. Just checked Trailer 2 and the eye color is the same.

Those invisible goopy monsters. They look like people that have been infested by that large monster. [img_thumb]https://i.imgur.com/RGm9j7H.png[/img_thumb][img_thumb]https://i.imgur.com/Lk47QaI.png[/img_thumb] I wonder if the guy in one of the trailers is apart of that goop now.
The firing of Hideo Kojima may have been the best thing to happen The creativity involved in this is fucking extraordinary, it truly feels out of this world

I'm not the best in Kojima's past unfortunately. I just noticed that the glasses look relatively similar.
I still can't make out the tattoo under his right arm. Been wondering what the hell it is since the reveal trailer. [editline]7th December 2017[/editline] Nvm lol. It's just Norman Reedus's actual tattoo.
iirc the game takes place after a nuclear apocalypse right?

What if this was just an elaborate, multifaceted PSA about abstinence, peer-pressure, and suicide prevention?
What if this was just an elaborate, multifaceted PSA about abstinence, peer-pressure, and suicide prevention?
Or this entire Death Stranding thing is a romantization of what happened to the dev team at Konami and Kojima Studio will release rebranded Silent Hills after leading everyone on until like the last second.
maybe it's all nanomachines
[sp] It's America. That's a spider web going over the mainland, at the center is Washington DC I assume.[/sp]

I mean it's pretty clear that's the easter egg he was talking about. Probably has no significance.
4th dimensional nonsense and eldritch horrors, sign me the fuck up. Plot twist: game is never released. It's a series of trailers that make a plot if you pay enough attention. Then it comes out five years in the past, and everyone's already played it.
my theroy is that time got fucked hardcore to the point where things die quickly because of some sort of time acceleration. the tons of dead bodies and stuff everywhere makes sense. the guy with the baby cannister was aging normally but the guy crushed under the future-truck was aging super rapidly with no baby cannister to be found. so i assume the baby cannister thing is just a clone of the radar guy but attached to them in a way where they can normalize time (baby ver of self + old ver of self = Normal aging self.) norman reedus didnt have one, so i assume he must be a catalyst for reversing whatever caused this since he aged normally without one.

All the people wondering about gameplay: The game, according to Kojima doing an interview in Brazil and also showing it to some other dude, is in a playable state. You can also see that the game looks different in this trailer than the others, i assume that its actually an in-game cutscene and not just rendered in-engine like the other two. Since its a Sony-backed PS4 console exclusive, good bet is it'll have gameplay shown off at PSX this weekend, which is similarish to how MGSV was for a bit where it had mostly cutscene trailers besides the one E3 one with the big Afghan demo, with gameplay mostly being shown off at the smaller trade shows. I'm guessing, anyway. Makes sense to me.
Watch as a gameplay trailer is just as confusing as these trailers where the mechanics make no fucking sense and Kojima is just laughing on stage.
Watch as a gameplay trailer is just as confusing as these trailers where the mechanics make no fucking sense and Kojima is just laughing on stage.
The only thing he's said about the gameplay that makes sense is its an action game set in some kind of open environment. But then he starts going on about ropes and sticks.
The giant monster above the surface of the water eats/collects the floating body that ascends past the surface of the water. Interesting.
The giant monster above the surface of the water eats/collects the floating body that ascends past the surface of the water. Interesting.
Im thinking its trying to consume the baby, which is why he threw it.
The creatures just seem to feed on life and death. I don't think those guys were killing themselves to prevent an even worse fate for themselves, but rather to avoid directly feeding that large creature which when ate that (alive) guy caused that huge explosion. I don't think eat is even the right word. Perhaps siphon. The older crushed guy who was bleeding out was slowly getting drained of his life and aging. The others weren't, and they were directly exposed to the elements (like no helmets on). Then the guy who tried to shoot and stab himself was siphoned and that huge explosion went off. What if they have the baby in a canister because of the "potential life left" when siphoned could cause an even bigger explosion?
