I'm starting to realise my house is starting to smell more and more like my grandparent's house. I'm not sure why.
I also opened my case containing a very valuable guitar, and that smell..... aww it's so good. I should be selling that guitar but I'm seriously considering keeping it for the personal value and nostalgia-ism. It really reminds me why I fell in love with guitar, it reminds me of walking into the guitar shop and staring at all the expensive ones. I just don't really get that feeling anymore, but that smell sure brings me back.
When you're walking through a forest on some peat / branches / soil on a hot day, it reminds me of camping with my family in the summer.
I have sort of the same thing, but I get nostalgia from just walking down a route I haven't taken for ages.

The other day I opened up an old Super Nintendo game box and got a whiff of nostalgia - The excitement of opening a new game.
Happens a lot to me, it's awesome and sad at the same time.
Smells are the best way to bring back memories. That's why you remember those things suddenly.
