Believe it or not, you can apply to donate your body from his exhibition. The subjects are also allowed to suggest a pose for themselves.
You ever watch his shows on dissecting the human body?
You ever watch his shows on dissecting the human body?
Yeah, saw it on channel 4. Wasn't as interesting as his installation work. Although I did have a particularly vivid nightmare of a man with no skin walking about in my room. Ha.
I saw the 'Bodies' exhibition in South Street Seaport in Manhattan when I was living there. As an artist, I cannot overrate how valuable it is to see the flayed figure, especially in various poses and motions. I recommend everyone to see it. It's not disgusting at all, even if you're extremely squeamish. The corpses look like plastic models, I even touched one... it felt like hard plastic. Really a fantastic exhibition.
But you don't even know the person.
But we'd both be dead. :q: Plus you're helping educate people and you get to be somewhat immortalized in a strange form of art. Once again though, that's just me, I understand why most people wouldn't want to give their bodies for this.

I wouldn't want to be skinned or altered in any way though. Just me, naked, riding a pennyfarthing. Captured for eternity for millions of people to see and ponder over.
At first I was all like :barf: But then I was all like :raise: And now I'm all like :bravo:
I've seen this exhibit at the OMSI in Portland. It was just cool and beautiful, not gross in any way. And anyone offended by seeing a corpse's penis, I would consider a very closed-minded individual. I have a whole book with lots of pictures of these. There was also a picture of one of the exhibits in an edition of the Guiness Book of World Records, and I actually saw it in real life. It was the one where the guy was holding his own skin.

She can be an old woman, or a fat chick, or both.
Look even if this guys work isn't fucking disgusting he's weird as hell. He makes fucking dead people sex poses for a living. I mean what the shit.
What makes you so sure she'll be a pornstar? She can be an old woman, or a fat chick, or both.
That wouldn't really bother me. I would obviously ask my family members if they had any issues with it. Hell, I'm not even entirely sure I would want to do it, just advocating that it's not all that bad.
He makes fucking dead people sex poses for a living. I mean what the shit.
IRL GMOD LOLoloLOL :downs:
Seen his exhibit in Manchester. Amazing stuff. There was more than this. There were babies...a corpse from each gestation period. Interesting as hell.
I actually feel sick. I can see lots of other disgusting shit, but this is bad.
Look even if this guys work isn't fucking disgusting he's weird as hell. He makes fucking dead people sex poses for a living. I mean what the shit.
Many kids do that on Gmod.

[editline]04:29PM[/editline]
Many kids do that on Gmod.
Yeah but they don't get paid for it now do they. It's for science though! :science: [editline]12:34PM[/editline] I bet the abortion clinics must love this guy. DOHOHOHO
Impeccable preservation, though. Even better than the Capuchin Catacombs method.
I went with my school a year or two ago to the exhibition in Manchester, it was awesome! And some guy who was in my year made a bet for 20p to shove his finger up the gorrilas ass. He did it.

[editline]04:47PM[/editline] (and that it actually shits from there)
This is how HIV came to being
I know you're joking, but a lot of people actually think that AIDS/HIV was started by someone fucking a monkey. It was actually a kind of "race" between two researchers in the sub-saharan (I forget where exactly) who were trying to create a vaccine for malaria I believe. Anyhow, one of them used rhesus monkeys with the infection and ended up infecting humans who were given the vaccine, which then spread.

Have an informative.

He also did a camel and a horse and a pregnant woman
I actually feel sick. I can see lots of other disgusting shit, but this is bad.
By disgusting shit, I guess you mean all the gore pictures and videos around the web. To be honest I don't think it's anywhere near the rest of the shit. I think this is pretty interesting, especially the dude with his blood vessels over his face.
I think this is pretty interesting, especially the dude with his blood vessels over his face.
Yea, it almost looked like little red threads at first. I can't even imagine how painstaking it must be to dissect everything to that detail without messing anything up.
I think he injected some chemical to make the blood vessels "freeze", then put the head in acid and melt the other tissue away. [editline]05:12PM[/editline] Of course acid that doesn't react with the thing he injected.

[editline]05:12PM[/editline] Of course acid that doesn't react with the thing he injected.
The resin he injects flows through the arteries and veins and replaces the water. Leaving all the blood vessels, frozen as you say, in position. Haven't a clue how he removes everything else around them though. What you said seems most logical.
Haven't a clue how he removes everything else around them though.
If I remember my basic anatomy correctly, you have no more than two cells directly between most capillaries in your body, and from your heart the vessels get smaller and smaller (then larger and larger), so it must be tough figuring out 1) which vessels to leave in the pose 2) finding them amongst really similar tissues. I wonder how long it takes him to do even a simple pose.
I read somewhere that he plasticized his best friend. ah, here it is:
...his collaboration with donors including his best friend, who willed and entrusted their bodies to him for dissection and public display,... \
I for one find this fascinating.
