WHAT THE FUCK. This is fucking sick not art.
It's a fucking human body, grow some balls
It looks so fake. I still find it hasn't really sunk in that those are real human bodies. Strange. Plus where does he get the corpses from?
They have their fluids replaced by plastics to preserve their shape and texture, so they're going to look somewhat plastic. The corpses are all from donors who agreed to have their bodies used for this purpose after they die. This does not interfere with regular organ donation since the removal the removal and use of organs needed for transplant takes priority.
Only sick thing I find is that this man cuts the bodies, and likes it.
If I remember correctly they have an exhibit showing a real smoker's blackened lungs in extreme and disturbing detail. What ended up happening was that the cleaning crews kept finding unfinished packs of cigarettes near the exhibit. Apparently the exhibit had such a psychological impact that some people were simply discarding whatever cigarettes they had on them right then and there. This was confirmed by several visitors reporting that the exhibit had gotten them to stop smoking when other more conventional methods had failed. Eventually they started putting a special receptacle near the exhibit specifically for unfinished packs of cigarettes.
This if anything proves that they are powerful exhibits.
I saw his exhibition at my local science center.
I remember seeing an exhibit showing the blackened lungs. Really makes you think about what's happening when you smoke those cigarettes.
I remember seeing an exhibit showing the blackened lungs. Really makes you think about what's happening when you smoke those cigarettes.
I should take my father to see them.
I should take my father to see them.
If you think it will help, then by all means do so.
If you think it will help, then by all means do so.
Worth a try! He's on cigars now. Not good.
All I can say is cool. To everything. The way the guy looks, his art, and so on.
All I can say is cool. To everything. The way the guy looks, his art, and so on.
He never takes that hat off ever, he said he sleeps with it on too. He said that its what anatomists used to do a hundred years ago and he felt he should also.
He should serious make a haunted house. meat puppets jumping at you holy shit
Do they smell? Cause I'd love to go see one of these exhibitions. But the smell would stop me.
Reminds me of Bioshock.
Do they smell? Cause I'd love to go see one of these exhibitions. But the smell would stop me.
No smell at all, the process preserves everything.
That's not an artist, that's House's dried shrived corpse. [editline]07:14AM[/editline] Good Christ, this man looks like some sort of super villan.
He wears that hat while he plastinates the bodies. Found some interesting pictures here: http://www.marcsteinmetz.com/pages/plastination/eplastination_minis.html
holy shit
Do they smell? Cause I'd love to go see one of these exhibitions. But the smell would stop me.
The bodies are practically plastic now, they are pumped with resins and coated too. There'd be no smell.
holy shit
Goodness me! Those corpses are fresher than the ones in the exhibit, far more shocking. The skulls are still saturated with blood.
Do they smell? Cause I'd love to go see one of these exhibitions. But the smell would stop me.
They're preserved, so I guess they contain no smelly bacteria.
holy shit
thats insane

That one kinda scares me to be honest.
That one kinda scares me to be honest.
It is quite intense. I think what seperates this one from the rest is that the others still retain their natural shape more or less. But this is just all over the place.

Really interesting, but a tad scary. I like them.
I wanna know what happened to this guy in his childhood
