Oh god, that Bodies/Popcorn
this is his best album in the mouth series
I need for him to expand on the mouth lore again, the previous two album lores were almost as good as the albums themselves
There's lore to sounds and silence?
Mouth Silence takes place on May the 3rd, 1999, in a universe in which All Star does not exist.
There is a neighboring universe in which only All Star exists.
Music is able to fluidly cross time barriers.
The more powerful the music, the greater its ability to traverse time.
The power of All Star is so great that it destroyed all other music in its universe.
The power of All Star is so great that on May the 4th of 1999, it authors itself into the Non-Star universe.
Mouth Sounds takes place on that date.
Only Rob Thomas and his friend Carlos Santana know the truth.
I've heard a few snippets of previous albums. You can hear some "do do do do" on the last track.

Oh my fucking god, that In The End mashup. That was fucking great. I love it when people remix teen angst songs to sound upbeat and happy.
I tried showing Neil Cicierega to a high schooler, said "didn't like meme songs" D:
Edit: oh this was two weeks ago, guess what he's hearing tomorrow tonight!

I think meme songs are higher than ever now after Pink Season.
does neil just throw random vocal only songs together and just makes it work? or it is hours upon hours of listening to songs to see if they fit
He's talked about it before on the Needledrop podcast. It's more finding songs in the same key with similar tempo's, sometimes pitching to different keys or slightly speeding up/slowing down tracks to find matches.
More so, its finding songs with similar beats and and meters. A lot of pop music follow similar patterns and beats, so with a bit of experimentation, you can find tracks that fit each other.

Like for instance, the under-pressure/all star remix, the lyrics are in a different key so they've been pitched down to match, but the emphasis on the syllables match pretty well to the beat, as do the quiet/loud bits, and the music has probably been cut to match the vocals better.
I wish he could put this on iTunes or something, I'd buy the fuck out of it.

It's Music Theory.
I might be slow, but I just realized, this guy is Lemon Demon. So that's what he does now.

I actually just so happened to come across this talk by Niel, after listening to the album on YouTube.

He's done so much shit it's crazy.
Holy moly, Annoyed Grunt is amazing.
I love Neil, this fucker has been around for so long and he still makes quality content
I'll need to listen to that later. Cicierega will always be the greatest internet star ever for this song:

edit:
pink season and mouth moods in the same month make up for the entirety of 2016
good lord
while it would be hard to pick which of the Mouth saga is the best, Mouth Moods has the best mixing and the most consistent quality of the three
plus it's filled with Wndrwll-tier moments
Mouth Moods is further improved by the fact that a lot of the tracks on it are perfectly fine to listen to on their own. Starting Line is groovy and nostalgic as fuck, 300 MB encompasses all that 90s digital optimism for the future, etc.
